One of the rare times a sequel improves on the original. They had consistent continuity having Lee’s father being killed in the line of duty but having it revealed to be murdered by his own partner was a twist and it served as a mirror to Lee’s relationship with Carter. Roslyn Sanchez who played Isabella was a standout as was the actress who played Hu Li they were two of the standouts. Don Cheadle almost forgot he had a small role in this movie I think he only agreed to do it if he was guaranteed to do a fight scene with Jackie. All in all a well rounded movie.

The blooper reel credits was such a big thing for a while that some animated features started producing them. Monsters, Inc. is the one I particularly remember.

Jackie has done a lot of sequels to multiple franchises. This was the first one for Tucker and he got a $20 million payday. Chris Tucker actually became good friends with Michael Jackson. They did the video for "You Rock My World" together (good watch too). Rush Hour 3 was going to be in New York and Jackie was excited for it. He made one of his first American studio films in NY called "The Protector" (1985). 9/11 went down and changed everything. Jackie was also going to do a movie with the working title "Nosebleed", that was coincidently about the twin towers and a terrorist plot. So Rush Hour 3 is set in different places and not New York. Other than that, RH2 was one of the best summer films of 2001.

A superior sequel! Everything is great in Rush Hour 2, but Jeremy Piven steals the movie with his clothing store cameo. "Let's put a dead animal on you!" 🤣🤣🤣

I agree. For someone who shows up in a single scene, he sure was a memorable character, probably my second favorite side character in the entire series behind George from RH3. I've remembered his scene since I was a kid. That kind of performance is what divides the bit actors from the special guest performers.

I love Ziyi Zhang (Hu Li) in this movie and she was awesome in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters I love how Chris Tucker paid homage to Michael Jackson, but it always made Michael laugh when Chris kicked the wrong damn leg.

9/10 I've seen it 4 times, and it still makes me laugh! Rush Hour 2 is one of those rare sequels that turn out to be either just as just as much if not equally more hilarious than the first. This summer, I had several opportunities to see this film and of course took those chances because I just couldn't stop laughing at this film, no matter how I knew what would happen in the next scene. It has great humor and great chemistry that we haven't seen between two actors since Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Carter and Lee are back and starting off where the first Rush Hour left off and that's in China. Carter is expecting a dream vacation full of "mushoo's" a.k.a girls! Lee is standing in the way of that though taking on his old cases, including finding out about a counterfeit scam, and finding out who killed his father. He fools Carter several times, but together eventually team back to discover that you just "follow the rich white man" back to America and end up working undercover with the sexy Isabella Molina. But things get deeper as Lee finds out that the counterfeit scam and his father's killer might to be connected. Rush Hour 2 is one of the funniest movies I have seen, not to mention one of the best movies of the year! I was extremely happy to see this movie and I cannot wait until the DVD! Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are just amazing and I cannot wait until the third Rush Hour release, I just know it'll be a great one! 9/10

Once you finish Rush Hour, you NEED to watch Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. It's Jackie Chan in a very similar action comedy pairing with Owen Wilson. Almost nobody on KZbin has done it, you really need to set the trend!

Liela there are always after credit/cut sequences in all Jackie Chan films alot with the fight sequences going wrong.
