Being Captain America isn't about being a Super Soldier; it's about moral integrity, and the drive to do what's right ^Steve proved himself worthy of that mantle long before he got the serum; in fact, it's precisely why Dr. Erskin chose him over more qualified/fit soldiers. The serum amplifies everything inside, good and bad, and he wanted a good man to receive the serum - hell, the man's dying motion was to point at Steve's chest, to fulfill his promise to "always be a good man, not a perfect soldier"

They will beat him up when he’s grieving, fire him, take away everything he has, lecture and talk at him and give judgments, but no condolences whatsoever. Not even our heroes even acknowledge Lemar’s death. The world just blinked and moved on and expected Walker to do the same.

This episode holds up as one of the best episodes of the MCU D+ Shows because it had everything from the brutal opening action scene to Walker's righteous indignation in front of the Senate Committee to the deeply moving conversation between Isaiah & Sam to the emotional scene with Walker & Lemar's family, followed by the awesome moments between Sam & Bucky and his training montage (structurally those two scenes should've been swapped around). This episode had a lot of juxtapositions that made it really great and honed in on some of the nuances that come along with being Captain America. The scene between Sam and Isiah is one point because you have Isiah talking about being experimented on, saving the POW's just like Steve did and not getting any recognition and then basically being "dead' in order to live a "normal" life. It made me think of the Tuskegee Experiment and all the other experiments that have happened to African Americans. And that adds to what Isiah said about why would any Black person pick up that shield. And then you have the scene where Bucky finally understands why Sam gave the shield up and Steve and him not recognizing what it would mean. And then the scene with Sam's nephews playing with the shield and what that shield would represent for a lot of people that look like Sam. I did really appreciate how the show in general showed both sides and all the intersections that each of these characters are dealing with.

The crazy thing about this thing with the shield is that the person Steve was didn't care about the shield, he knew it was important but at the end of the day he placed importance in the real things, the people he loved, his friends, the people around him, strangers, and when the time came he gave the shield away for his friend (Bucky in civil war) so it's not really the shield but the person behind it. So Sam leaves his wings but Joaquin Torres in the comics is actually the second Falcon so it's a nice nod there they can elaborate on if they intend to. In the comics though his wings are organic, having his genes spliced with Redwing by Karl Malus. that is not true at all. Some people do, but i have not seen any complaints like that when discussed online, Shows and movies like this just play the black card or the woman card so if you disagree you must be racist or hate women. But... Most of the complaints are legitimate. It's not a horrible show, but it also is not phenomenal. And no, the dislike doesn't come from being black. First off, this happened in the comics, no complaints. Second off, we had plenty of black characters so far and none were called out. in fact, black panther was a fan FAVORITE. IF the mcu audience truly is racist, how is black panther one of the best performing with the least complaints? it simply doesn't stay consistent. The whole woke black complaint is a lie perpetuated on purpose or on accident by posts like this without the actual proof to show it.

He probably said that he didn't need the wings because the wings were still U.S. government property and obliged Sam to work within the constraints of the U.S. government. Sam's is his own man, like Steve was, and has his own sense of right and wrong to guide his choices, and probably doesn't want to be under the total control of the American government. The first episode of this series had Sam, as a solider, on a mission to retrieve a captured government scientist. Without those U.S. Government issued wings, Sam is probably more of a free agent, like Bucky, and any of the rest of the former Avengers.

in my opinon difference between John and Steve both are good men but their big difference is what happened after they got the serum steve was held back while John went right into battle and during first battle Steve saved his best friend while John lost his best friend

It's funny how people doesn't even try to think and realize the entire concept of captain America it's constantly being twisted into convincing people captain America and anyone who follows him are "the good guys",basically like propaganda... When you actually put attention, Steve committed several crimes since the very first movie and always did whatever he wanted without taking any responsibility for whatever happens because of that... In this case, Sam was supposed to be sentenced to two years of domiciliary arrest same as Lang and Burton had to pass through, but instead he escaped from a max security cell, living those two years breaking borders carrying militarized equipment... Now in this show he broke out of a max security jail someone who's an international criminal that attacked several global leaders, then moved from country to country illegally in a private jet and again carrying militarized equipment, sympathized with terrorists that literally threatened his nephews, defied the authority of the only character who had any legal authority, chased someone who was clearly in a emotional shock, and decided to engage in a fight with him... And even after all,he's not getting any kind of martial court nor taking any kind of responsibility for being involved in any of the illegal matters he got himself into... Meanwhile the guy who did everything according to the book his entire life loses all of his privileges only because of a totally justified rage episode...

Why are people in the comments saying sam can fight John 1v1 when it is shown this episode he cannot it doesn't matter if he trained with Steve it clearly didn't do anything, how many times alone this episode would sam have died if it wasn't for bucky.

Not sure why you guys obsess over Sam not being a super soldier - Black Widow and Hawk Eye aren't super soldiers either, did you worry about them in every battle and think they shouldn't be heroes?
