Venom started out as a Spider-Man villain, in the comics his background is allot more complex than any movie he's in can fit into a single sitting. But this movie does a fair job and does the character justice. Not all superhero movies needs to tell the origin of a character.

Loved the developing relationship between Eddie and Venom . ( worth the price of admission and funny as hell ! ) . . . as a kid - used to have dreams of making friends with the monster that was chasing me - and sometimes it worked !

When I first watched it in the cinema I thought the whole point of the movie would be destroying Venom but I did like this plot better and the comedy 😂 ‘What in the jelly’ was my fave line of urs 🤣🤣

Just so you know... Venom first appeared in Spiderman 3. Same black thingy from space that took over Tobey and made him evil ect ect. Its the same thing here... but this Venom is kind. Its has nothing to do with Spiderman(even though it should because Venom is Venom because of Spiderman). But here this Venom is its own thing... own movie... a different approached.... completely separate from the other others.

It's funny you enjoyed that car chase. For me, that was a low point. Other than that, I loved the movie. Carnage got such poor reviews that I wouldn't have watched it, but my wife rented it and I actually liked it quite a bit. It might even be better than the first. I think the problem with both movies was the fan base, expecting something more comics accurate. Venom should have appeared in a Spider-Man film first, like he did in Spider-Man 3, which was more comics accurate than this movie. Both took licenses though.

In Spider-Man from 2007, Sam Raimi got Venom's origin right despite the fans and Avi Arad ruining the film and Topher Grace wasn't the right choice for the character, But to be honest here, I really did enjoyed Venom played by Tom Hardy who also played Bane in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Fantastic reaction to this Marvel/SONY film from 2018 Liala.
