Fun fact: The venom species are called the Klintar and their home planet is Klintar. Venom was considered a loser their because he wanted them to bond with their hosts instead of killing them. The creator of the Klintar was called Knull and he existed before the univers existed. One of the Celestials from Guardians of the Galaxy wanted to inspect and experiment on him but he was so angry that he cut of the Celestial's head. The head later became Nowhere from Guardians of the galaxy. Keep in mind that he cut its head while being the size of a dust particle compared to the Celestial

This series deserved to be R-rated! I still enjoyed the film, but it could have been so much more. Also, when considering comic books I somehow can't imagine Carnage being PG-13 in any way possible 🤣 Tom Hardy did well by Venom, great casting choice 😁

In comics you can get away with much more violence than in Live-action. Carnage is not the only case, it's many other characters like Steppenwolf. In his first appearances, he sliced people in half, and directly impaled them with guts flying everywhere, and it's was approved by the comics code authority for children. When live action Steppenwolf did the same, it got an instant r-rating.

He didn't even think about the fact that her career as a lawyer would be at risk. No one wants to hire a lawyer if they can't be sure that their information is safe. He almost ruined her life for a story so it would be weirder if she didn't leave

Not exactly. It was his idea. Originally the plan was that the tank was just there to establish it as a fancy restaurant. But Tom saw it and said, "Yeah, so I'm going in the tank." So they rigged the entire tank so he could do it safely, and even put in fake lobsters with marshmallow filling and chocolate sauce.

Neat little detail about THE KISS: If you pay really close attention, you'd notice that Anne only kisses him while Venom is in control. The second Venom's fully back inside Eddie, he pulls Eddie away. Further proof that it was VENOM who wanted to kiss Eddie, not Anne.

No. He wanted to make HER kiss Eddie. He's not into Eddie like that. He just ships them hard lol I'm pretty sure the Symbiotes don't have sexual identities, considering how they "reproduce" (which is clearly not sexually). If an organism doesn't reproduce sexually, there's no reason to even have desire to do that, much less positive feelings from such. Because those things develop from the need to reproduce sexually, evolutionarily speaking. So, Venom didn't have some overwhelming desire to make out with Eddie. He just didn't have an issue kissing Eddie because he has zero need or want for sexual contact. He just knows that's what Eddie wants and how humans function. He just wants his buddy to be with the person that makes him happy. So he does his buddy a favor, hoping if he just puts them together, they'll just be together. It's that simple. And I say that as someone who is not hetero myself. I have zero problem with the gay part. It's the idea Venom would desire any sexual or romantic contact at all personally for himself (itself, really. Pretty sure they're also genderless) that I have to disagree on.

Bit of a down note - When this movie was released in theaters, there was a several day stretch where I was going through hardcore alcohol withdrawals while trying to recover. I watched some leaked bootleg clips from this movie on KZbin, and it was frightening as all get out when Eddie would turn into Venom. There is a different emotional state you go into at that time, but still watch the clips over and over because it was so effectively scary in a way that stuck with me. (The movie is fine, but that really got me in the prime headspace for it to be particularly effective.)

There's never been an accurate big screen adaptation of how the original symbiote attaches itself to Peter Parker in the first place. Too bad Marvel didn't use the Secret Wars storyline as a phase of the MCU. The comics have about a dozen symbiote+host characters. Venom even attaches to Deadpool for a short time. I always wanted to see a symbiote/Wolverine hybrid.

This is two years late, but considering that there are so many non comic readers in this comment section heres some info. It honestly doesnt matter if you want Eddie and Venom together romantically or platonically as that is your preference, the problem is that they were actually romantic in the comics and subtext in film (for venom 1 and 2 im writing this before the 3rd one releases) it was confirmed by Tom Hardy that he will be trying to write their relationship as romantic as it was on screen although its subtext. So many people either ignore this or just deny it of ever happening. In other cases a lot of you cant pick up on subtext in film. If you want any information of this look it up, read the venom and eddie comics, or just ask me and look through the films. You dont have to like them together but so many people deny of anything like this of ever happening such as loki and deadpool (of their sexualities being publicly announced in their own words. Also, stop saying not everything has to be gay when 90% of media and content is straight and just because they are trying to fit in something that happens in real life (yes gay people exist stfu). Also, this is fiction so I dont understand what the problem is, even if you dont like it just move on and scroll. This is directed towards homophobia in comment sections / denial in many mainstream media ,including non comic readers that are only going based off of films.
