Someone pointed out that the hajj was very difficult to perform years ago , not in the performance of the rituals once the pilgrims arrive , but in getting there! Now it is relatively simple and comfortable to get there once it can be afforded , but once there , people must navigate the rising heat that has come with global climate change and the massive crowds . Still it is one of the pillars of Islam and if you ask someone who has experienced it , most if not all would tell you that it was worth it .

They were not killed, most of them were illegal pilgrims without proper hajj visa, so they couldn’t get access to proper places/ tent with AC and decent foods/drinks during their stay especially in the days. So they had high risk to get heat wave. I was one of the pilgrims with Hajj Visa this year alhamdulillah. Everything was wonderful and I would love to go back again and again for performing hajj and umrah. For sure I don’t care about those negative and stupid comments. So Allah made a religion that requires it's followers to travel to a specific part of the world to do hajj. Did Allah not take into consideration that there will be people too poor to do this pilgrimage or did he think the only people who will be Muslims are Arabs who live in Saudi Arabia? Not to mention that until now, all women needed a male guardian to do hajj, thus preventing half of the population from completing one of the sacred pillars of Islam. Islam is not a universal religion. If you have to pray in Arabic, dress like an Arab, and go to Arabia to worship, then Islam was not meant for you but for the Arabs.

It depends on the lunar calendar . Hajj is performed on the 10th of Dul Hijja month every year . The lunar calendar is ten days ahead of our regular calendar every year . So next year too Hajj will be in summer . Following which 17 years of Hajj will be in winter

It’s scheduled for a particular time in the year so imagine people from all over the world trying to accomplish this within that same time. It’s the Umra which is a lesser one which can be done any other time. The Hajj apparently is longer, more gruesome and always in the summer when the prophet did the journey which they also have to do. It’s becoming more and more dangerous now with these extreme temperatures that most of these people will not have experienced before. I’ve been in Dubai at 40 degrees Celsius and just a few seconds in the sun are enough to disorient your head, I can’t imagine having to walk unshielded in more heat to miles and miles.

These deaths were 80% illegal piligrims using tourist visas to enter the site from the desert . Since they were unregistered they had no access to AC accomodations (same as having access to your hotel room and buffet on vacay in Miami or goa , you cannot stay on the beach 24x7 to save in hotel fare , can you?) this doesn't have concern with the sawdi govt since it's a quota system allocation for every country . The sawdi govt job is to manage the crowd . Your accomodation and transport is your countrys tour managers responsibility .

It's done in the tenth day of the the Islamic month dul hijja which follows lunar calendar . Next year too Hajj will fal in summer . Following which it will fal in cooler days for the next 17 years . The lunar calendar is ten days ahead /short of the Gregorian calendar .

Absolutely awful, can they not do evening trips then let them whom are frail, young or disabled be allowed to visit until the Sun's reaching its hottest positions the next day and so on the cycle would continue but with healthy and willing people attending throughout the day at their own discretion.
