Just no chance you are favorite to win when your point guard playing against the best shooter of all time and see him stop & pop 3 pointer and he decides to do the same while being terrible perimeter shooter. And for Durant, I actually think nothing wrong to just be very good ball player who just wants to go on the court and play, but at the same time if you are like this, having conversations for him to be one of all time greatests sounds silly to me. Totally disagree with Wildes and Broussard about Boston. Jaylen Brown is 25 and has continued to improve on both ends. KD will be 34 next season, and while he’s better than Jaylen and Tatum right now, his age and injury history suggest his decline is imminent. I don’t know if Boston will make it back to the Finals with their current roster, but I also don’t think it’s a guarantee that will happen with KD. Why not run it back and retain your assets instead of blowing it up to bet on an uncertain title run?
@jorgegamboa58212 жыл бұрын
Boston caught a couple of nice breaks this finals run.. no Middleton and no Herro (6MOY). So it is going to be very hard for them to get back if they stay the same. If they only trade Brown and picks for KD, Boston would get substantially better. Jaylen is a nice player, but he's no Kevin Durant.

@MrJones0192 жыл бұрын
Well I totally agree with him. No matter how good Brown becomes he's never gonna be close to KD. Adding KD gives you 3-4 year run for the title. What do assets mean if you just keep them for the sake of it, winning is the thing that matters. No guarantee Boston wins with either Brown of KD, because guarantees do not exist in life, much less in sport. However, your chances are much higher with KD, or at least I think so and that is what Wildes is pointing out. Not even talking about just Boston. Let's take the Raptors example: let's say Barnes develops to be great. That could give you a chance of 10% of winning a title over the next 10-15 years (the number is probably lowe as a looooot of factors influence this). Now, let's say KD gives you just 11% chance of winning over 4 years, you take that chance. Bottom line is a lot of factors go into winning a championship/developing a star player (A LOT). KD is a certainty, no other player not named Curry, LeBron, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic or Doncic (throwing a younger one) are.
@scottmurphy61622 жыл бұрын
@@jorgegamboa5821 KD is absolutely better than Jaylen, but the Nets reportedly want a king’s ransom for an injury prone star who’s at or approaching the end of his prime. All other sports work this way and I am interested in what these teams look like 10 years from now. The skill difference is also closing and a league expansion will be needed soon. My guess, 8 years.

A lot of people, including the Nets and many fans, want to act like this is prime KD from 4-5 years ago on the trading block. It isn't. This is an aging, post major injury KD on the trading block.

The first guy makes a great point, wow.

Just let him sit. The NBA won’t miss KD if he never played again. KD has a bigger future off the court.

Broussard nailed it. KD is not worth it... To win, He needs whatever would be traded. Nick makes good points - i'd also never trade BI..

Can we stop mentioning how many games KD played vs kyrie when he was injured the first season its pushing a false narrative.. kyrie been sitting regards of his health.
@lessonlearned2322 жыл бұрын
KD is already declining. You can tell because younger players are now able to hold him 1 on 1.
@andreward82682 жыл бұрын
I thought Curry was declining I thought LeBron was declining BTW: also played for the USA Basketball last summer... remember that Gold Medal? KD is still one of the top 5 current player

this was a really good convo. The Nets might just have to take the best offer even if it disappoints them

If you have to trade your two best players and 5 firsts to get durant. Then durant has no trade value

I love Chris Broussard's takes. Even if you don't agree with everything he says, you appreciate and respect the reasoning behind his arguments. So interesting a while back when First Take begun, Skip accused him of having "sold his soul"/ Journalist Integrity, because he was defending Lebron. Turns out Skip was talking about himself.

The CAVS can afford KD and maintain a great roster. Why is nobody discussing this? Check the trade machine. Evan Mobley, Kevin Love, Okoro and Osman for Durant and Joe Harris. The Cavs roster is Garland - Levert - KD - Markkanen - Allen. Sexton - Harris - Rubio off the bench

He's not taking a team by himself very far. So no.

I'd trade Mobley & Zi too for injury issues straight up for KD

Golden State. It's the only trade that makes sense for both teams and the player asking to be traded. Kinda poetic.
@aws21st2 жыл бұрын
No just because you get KD does not give you a ticket to a conference finals. I don't understand why the sports media do not say this. There are only few players in history who can carry a team without a legitimate 2 and 3 player with chemistry. Because teams are not going to break the Bank for 15 year fragile emotional physical KD The Nets must tell KD we cannot make it happen.

Since 1990’s every NBA dynasty has run the triangle. Bulls, bulls, Lakers, GS. In fact over the past 32 NBA seasons 15 of the winning teams ran the triangle. So nearly 50% of teams over a 30 plus year window who won the NBA championship ran the triangle……. And that number will continue to grow.

I wouldn’t trade Booked straight up for KD either.

Let me know what you think but I can’t think of a team that should pursue trading for kd that’s realistic
@skl58382 жыл бұрын
I really hope Joe Lacob DOES NOT trade Wiggins, Poole, Kuminga & Wiseman or any other GSW player for KD. I saw the way the Celtics overwhelmed KD by way of defense in this 2021 season playoffs. IMO I feel KD works best as a #2 behind a #1 who plays as great as KD does but is a true leader. If GSW trades for him it will be a betrayal of GSW's honor & integrity in their desire to win now, plus their recklessness in ignoring that KD is now very prone to injury...

I would absolutely trade Tatum or Mobley for KD. Tatum seems to be a player destined to be on the border of greatness, but never quite getting there.

The kind of return Brooklyn is asking for is WAAAAYYYYYY out of reach. Nobody is giving away their future for an aging superstar who doesn’t commit to a team.
@nfrancis112 жыл бұрын
Is KD still in his prime? Maybe or at the end of it. Thing is he is a depreciating asset at 34 years old. Doesn't make sense giving up the farm for him. Need depth to win it all. That's why golden state got lucky. All they had to do was make the numbers work because they added him instead of trading for him.

Honestly I would trade Jason Tatum for KD, and not Jalen Brown. Not that it's a popular opinion. I feel you would give up less if you were Boston if you did that trade.

I would trade Zion straight up for KD, but I pre8much agree with Nick. KD will be 34. He can't lead, and if he isn't euphorically happy he will bounce in half a heartbeat.

no team should break the bank for KD or Kyrie at this point. The nets gave them everything and look what happened.
@Criminal.Lawyer.20242 жыл бұрын
No way. Kevin can't stay put. Leaving the GSW showed me Kevin will never be happy on any team. Then Brooklyn broke the bank and he's ditching them. Kevin Durant has become too much like Kyrie Irving...so there is just no way I'm taking the chance of ruining my franchise.
@kerke46392 жыл бұрын
I think the only team that should go for this move is the Blazers in December. Dame is 30 and the chances of getting another star committed to play there that plays at that level is so low. I think they have to break the bank to get him and KD on the same roster to make runs while they are still both in their primes. I really don’t see any other team giving up that much. Especially teams with young stars as their best players which the Nets would want. I also think that if KD isn’t traded by then, the Blazers have a chance to test Anfernee and Sharpe on the court with Dame. I think depending in how they look, the could trade for KD. If they look like an actual team that can go deep, than don’t trade for him but if they look nice but they’re still at best a 2nd round exit, just go on with the deal.
@HypocritesExposd2 жыл бұрын
No simply because KD has shown no loyalty. Whoever breaks the bank will only get to see KD leave a short time later
