I agree that this may be the best, most comprehensive W2F video yet! Mark is a superb instructor.

I've learned so much from Mark over the last couple of years. Great angler, great teacher, extremely detailed. Most of the guys giving tips and lessons just sling some bull out there and don't explain anything. Mark is the man. I ALWAYS watch his videos when I come across them. Thanks again Mark hope to me you some day.

Probably one of the most in Depth Wired2fish clips I've seen, Excellent job on the Details Mark, Sometimes it's those small things that can make such a big difference, in both confidence and Concentration when working a lure.

Mark you are the man!! Thank you so much! I remember 20 years ago you took me over and picked out some jerk baits at bass pro shop in Michigan and gave me some tips ..of course I forgot them , but a few years later I remembered them especially the pause that was the key! White bottom bait with a green on the side....1 even had your signature..and I nailed the smallies, thanks again! The strikeking is the best especially the deep

Great video. You have an excellent way of communicating and teaching. Best video I've seen. Jerkbait is my all time favorite bait. Good all year. It's a magnet. The only bait that will get a bite two feet from the boat because they're so focused on the easy meal. Caught a 5lb just last weekend off the side of the boat when i was done with the cast and just talking to my brother not even looking. It was sitting still about 20 seconds at that point. I'll jerkbait while my brother swimbaits, t-rigs, or flukes once I bring them in. A deadly combo. Good job!

He made it sound like the jerkbait could be the best lure out there besides a jig. I spent the entire day fishing a jerkbait and finally had a nice 3 liber commit. I was like a kid that caught his first fish. I was elated. I cannot wait to get better at this technique.

Thanks Mark, great clip! I learned a lot from your video! Jerkbait and Crank Baits fishing is a weak spot for me. I am working on it! I purchased a Lews BB1 Pro 5.1 gear ratio this year. I haven't put line on it yet. You mentioned 8/10lb test line for JerkBaits, mono or Fluorocarbon? For Crank baits do you recommend the same pound test, and again mono or fluoro? Many thanks!
@njbassin77299 жыл бұрын
I was lucky enough to attend a class taught by him and he recommends 15 pound test for post spawn when using floaters instead of sus jerks. I do believe he uses fluorocarbon not mono. As far as crankbaits go if it helps at all Randy Howell recommends 10-14 pound fluorocarbon and i have really liked co-polymer lines with them too.

1:00 oops looks like he wrapped around his front hook...my least favorite aspect of jerk bait fishing hahah I can attest to the awesomeness of these strike king jerks. They’re really, realllyyy good for their price. They look just about as good as my 110s and lucky crafts, action-wise. Plus they cost under $10 so I’m much more willing to throw them into/near the stuff my $25 baits seem drawn to like magnets. Oooo, is that a stump? I’m really expensive so let’s just go ahead and dig nice and deeply into that...I’m much bolder with my cheaper baits so that actually makes them more effective in the long run. Highly recommended.

Haha, its 70-80s here now, No such thing as a winter pattern on these fish. The problem is summer, when its 115+ degrees and getting out of the AC feels like your gonna have a stroke.

@Wired2Fish8 жыл бұрын
+Bo Manton Hi Bo, the Lews Custom Speed Casting Rod 6'7'' Medium Action Jerkbait is a sweet stick for jerk baiting. Soft and responsive tip that transitions to a powerful mid-section and butt. Mark was fishing the predecessor rod to this: goo.gl/0D3FVO

+Bo Manton ........try also the Shakespeare "Ugly Stick" 7-foot medium action rod....I use a spinning rod and reel, with 8 or 10-lb. test, mono-filament. I like Shakespeare because it's dependable, and very affordable at about $60........ good luck!
