WOW you guys had far better quality fishing than we did during that tournament . It was nothing but a slow, tough, grind for us all day. It was in fact miraculous that Pete caught the winning fish all things considered. Also good to see that the salmon red is producing and it wasn't just a lark. Great job as always guys! Now I can't wait to get out to Montauk! On another note when I saw your splash well fill up with that boat wakes it made my stomach drop as I though about my not fully enclosed transom. I wish boaters would be more considerate of the other people that they're sharing the water with. People need to realize that when boating they're always responsible for their wake.

Hi John. What would you say is a good minimum depth to start vertical jigging vs casting out from a boat or kayak? I was thinking that the last outing I was on that maybe the water was too shallow and the fluke were possibly spooked by the boat over them.

John, I know you have used the Nuxus and Tsunami spiral (acid) wrapped rods. Which do you prefer? Is the Nexus worth the extra 40$?
@JohnSkinnerFishing5 жыл бұрын
I do not like the Tsunami slow pitch for fluke, but love it for bass and blacks. The Tsunami Classic H with 4 inches off the tip is good through 4 ounces for fluke and is only $60. The Nexus H, trimmed 4 inches, is what I prefer for fluke because it handles the whole 1.5-6-ounce weight range.
@outdoors-fun5 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Interesting that you had to cut 4in off the Nexus for it to handle it's weight range. How well do the tsunami slow pitch handle their weight range? You should do a video comparing the two.
