If it’s a navigable waterway, which lots of the ganny is, then you can still access the water and people can access land up to the high water mark
@thehiddenangler90833 жыл бұрын
I still would not go cause people will yell at you cause its "private property" even though the only people who control the water is the MNR
@georgegeorge61933 жыл бұрын
@@thehiddenangler9083 they can yell at you all they’d like but if you’re respectful, having a proper understanding of the laws, and are within your legal boundaries, then there are no issues. In fact, you could actually turn the tables on them since people can be charged for disrupting or disturbing anglers who are legally within their rights

@@georgegeorge6193 with respect, the MNR and opp remove people from the private property every year. You think no one has ever thought about or tried the high water mark argument? No guides,no fishing clubs, no fishing forum nerds?? For whatever reason im 100000% sure it doesn't apply there. Pretty sure it's considered non navigable in that area. Thats what the deeds say too or so land owners claim, Which i assume is true since mnr is up there often enough. ..actually there's so many great rivers in southern ontario that have area's you cannot tread on. Mostly the smaller rivers and upper rivers.. - some area's of the notty and upper credit(people even own the streambeds in some area;s),,, Thats what i told by one of biggest steelhead and trout guides graham bristow I wish it was ''WET BOOT RULES'' i.e as long as you have your feet in the water your good,, this is the law in utah for example
@georgegeorge61933 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj considering that “float you fanny down the ganny” is a popular event that is based on your ability to navigate down the ganny, I would have to say that it is navigable. I’m well aware that CO’s or the OPP remove people, but that’s often because they don’t understand the the rules. Bristow is right, some people can own the stream bed if the water is not navigable, and if they own both sides of the river. However, if landowners only own one side, the own up to the high water mark. Lots of people don’t understand the laws regarding waterfront rights

True, everytime I go to Sylvan Glen it's a Zoo. Not even worth the trip from Toronto anymore. I'll usually fish near the mouth instead. May be less fish around, but at least there being caught nice and fresh, chromers.
