FISHING HEAVEN! End of season coarse fishing on the River Test

As we approach the end of the UK's coarse fishing river season I was inspired to book a special, guided day's angling on the legendary chalk stream that is the River Test.
I love my traditional river fishing and the many species of fish on offer in this fantastic private stretch near Romsey in Hampshire, southern England, so couldn't wait to wet a line. They include roach, dace, chub, grayling, perch and more. And the fishing didn't disappoint, with several new PBs and seven species landed!
It really was my idea of fishing heaven and at the end of this video I urge all keen anglers to investigate whether their own slice of piscatorial paradise might be within reach.

beautiful innit. Im in sheffield , 61 yrs old and remmber trying all my local venues as a lad damflask (impossible) few fish at underbank.5 minute walk from home to the canal and river Don 😩😩. But we had family in hampshire. wherever they lived never more than 10 minute walk from the river itchen. amazing place. i learnt at an early age its not just about catching just been there is enough.

How could you not use a Centrepin to fish that style and for Grayling.

A fair question! I do use a pin sometimes and have done in some of my previous videos but I was actually advised to fish a fixed spool as there is a lot of far bank casting and a LOT of trots / retrieving. If you watch the video that inspired my trip, Phil starts with a centrepin and then swaps to a fixed spool. But a fair question as I say and I hope to do some pin fishing next season 👍
