I have suffered from vata dosha most of my life since early teenage days but only 2 years ago got to know about such doshas, and time to time started managing them , all symptoms matched , I mostly used to have ( still have but I manage) dry skin , dry hai , extremely cold feet 🦶, feeling extremely cold than most individuals, severe constipation , random uncontrolled depressive thoughts, anxiety, digestive issues, uncontrollable shivering when I felt sad, angry or in hopelessness . Later when I came across these doshas, started managing my symptoms by following Ayurveda principles & now I can manage my symptoms up to 90% 😊

@jeet shah @ maheshwari m @ kp kp I started using ghee & cold pressed oils generously, before I wud eat no oil food & no ghee at all for dieting purposes & being fancy but later realized that eating ghee & cold pressed oils are good for you, they won’t make u gain weight. I stopped eating salad 🥗 as it aggravates vata & eat warm cooked foods , Use oil moisturizers for hair n skin , I wear socks at night 🧦 if I feel cool feet 🦶 ( regardless season) , and in winters warm my feet at night by using a heater before sleeping: it really calms me down and makes me cozy & balances my thoughts n shivering, I meditate or japa at least 10min every day with chitta shuddhi ( complete concentration n trust on almighty) it has really helped me balance my mind , I include spices like ginger, garlic , hing & garam masala 98%, drink warm ginger tea , I really stopped caring about what others think and fashion, if it’s summer or warm day out and if people are wearing sleeveless or half sleeve, & if my body is feeling cold regardless season I wear full sleeves sometimes even a light weight jacket, if my friends or people ask me I simply tell them am feeling cold ., eat homemade sweets n cakes made by me in a healthy way by adding jaggery, honey , palm jaggery n maple syrup, before I wudnt eat sweet even if I craved and that aggravated vata , now I eat sweet but also make sure it’s healthy and I feel satiated, also some of the above what vivek bhayya told . 😊

I had a surgery in July 2022 & since had been experiencing worse bloating & other symptoms than before & couldn’t figure out why. The bloating was like significantly worse so a few days ago I remembered in 2020 I learned a little bit about my vata dosha, began taking some ghee as well as applying it to my feet before bed & massaging it on my entire belly and back as well. WITHIN ONE DAY my bloating reduced by 90% and I felt such a massive difference in how I felt from the inside out. It’s now been a few days that I’ve been incorporating more vata balancing practices/diet changes - eating my homemade soup, sweet potatoes, warm raw milk w my protein shake instead of cold milk, and have continued taking my ghee internally & externally, and my life has improved immensely just in these few days 😭🙏🏽💗 I’m beyond grateful for Ayurveda & am now learning all I can about best practices for vata balancing so thank you for sharing ☺️

Some steps to balance vata 1. Abhyanga (self massage) 2. Gandush (oil pulling) 3. Orifice oiling (oiling naval, ear, nostrils after bathing) 4. Nasya (nostril oiling before going to bed) ghee or other medicinal 5. Food is medicine Eat food: sweet, salty,sour Eat : black pepper, cumin, bay leaves, asafoetida, black cadmium , chillies, Ginger Include A2 milk, milk products Consume in moderate: raw foods, salads, kidney beans, cauliflower, peas, potato, mushroom Drink: herbal tea, soup, besan cheela and seera, milk Dalia, masala chach and butter milk post meal 6. Lifestyle Sleeping Reduce screen time Add Yoga asanas and meditation Sit in sunlight Oil pulling

Thankyou so much for this video really helped alot This is my story of how I recovered my vata imbalance that might help you people out too :) I was having extreme vata imbalance because of eating too drying cold nature foods and which resulted in cervical... Dry skin, extreme constipation and extremest stomach ache whole day even after eating a tiny cashew. It would produce hell lot of gas in belly but couldn't pass it out .. I couldn't eat anything except khichdi. for a month. Spent thousands on doctors and nothing helped. Finally I cut off all raw fruits and veggies from my diet seeing my vata severity... Except for bananas which are lubricating in nature. Avoided all gas causing lentils and veggies. Grains - besan ka chilla, warm milk, ghee, shakkar, buttermilk... Spent 4 days on this diet.. While sipping over warm water whenever possible. Included yogasanas focusing on colon and stomach and constipation... It started vanishing like a magic.also daily abhyanga with sesame oil and applying mustard oil in ears navel nose and anus really helped.. Now I'm completely recovered In the end when radhekrishna will wish... You'll find your way out :)

@@moupriyasaha331 avoid rice for sometime..warm milk will soothe you like anything... Eat atleast two spoons of ghee a day... Once before your first meal... Once at night mixed in warm milk .drink a lot of warm milk buttermilk dairy products are best for you... In grains besan is going to be best... Try besan ka cheela for few days... Once you feel you've started recovering you can reintroduce wheat chapati

1. Vata is dry, cold and light 2. To balance it oil massaging the body, oil pulling, orifice oiling, nasya are the best practices 3. Indulge more in sweet, salty and sour foods 4. Reduce the intake of bitter, pungent and astringent foods 5. Include milk and milk products 6. Reduce leafy vegetables and cold drinks 7. Warm drinking water, teas, soups, besan based foods and khichdi are recommended 8. Exercise should not be too exhaustive 9. Yoga and meditation help pacify vata 10. Sleep well and on time

4:15 wish I got this video three years before my son had severe anxiety and ocd problems we didn't knew what is this and what to do we went to a psychiatrist he prescribed medicines like fluoxetine and prozac the thing which he was suffering for an year got cured within months at first we were happy but after quite some time he had many after affects like regular shivering in hand and he had many memory problem he forgets almost everything he don't even remember what Teachers had said and couldn't recollect things which he had kept. I am not saying treatment is completely bad but it is better to prevent rather than facing. And I think counseling is much better than medicines.

With some positive results, I got some help from the nearest ayurvedic centre. Taking the next step in the journey, now I am getting help from an ayurvedic centre in Kerala. Great video brother. I recently was facing digestive issues like bloating and acidity and had consulted with an Ayurvedic doctor to get some help on this. He diagnosed that I was a Vatha dominant body type and recommended many of the same practices that you have shown in this video. On starting the practices, could see improvements in my digestion within two weeks. So I can confirm that they are very effective!

​@@pratheeshbu Oil massage, nasya oil for nostrils, avoid foods which cause bloating like peanuts, cauliflower, potato, peas, etc. Try to eat last meal 3 hours before bed. He also recommended taking ayurvedic supplements like Hingvastak churna (qtr tsp + ghee) right before meals. Jirakadhyarishtam right after meal (10 ml mixed with 10 ml water) - to improve agni. IMO the most important thing I have learned to improve digestion is to reduce stress - this can be done with yoga and pranayama - as Fittuber has also mentioned in the video. Hope this helps.

Really great Vivek! As an Ayurvedic practitioner myself i agree with everything you say, but more importantly, the way you put it across is fun, easy to follow and very informative. One thing would be worth adding regarding the milk... it should always be warmed. I would add cinnamon, turmeric and a little ghee. I would love to encourage everyone to only drink milk from organic dairies who use compassionate rearing methods.. they don't separate the calf from the mother. It's worth researching a good source. If you can't find it, then i would substitute cow's milk with an alternative like almond or oat milk (not soya)

@@aravindram1480 hi dear brother, first of all I completely stopped eating outside foods, then i almost gave up eating too spicy and junk foods, stopped drinking hot beverages like tea/coffee, 100% home food, surya namaskar-min10 times a day (trust me it's a wholesale package for overall health) mostly ate seasonal fruits, pranayama and so on.. health got better

Yes, please cover other doshas in coming videos. I have severe digestion issues (mandhagni) but no body pains at all, so am I vata dosha or pitta dosha? Also, I find high protein foods do not suit me. There was no mention of how certain food groups affect doshas. Please do cover that in coming videos. Also, please try and review in future videos, in addition to protien, what impact garlic (raw and cooked), raw vegetables (salads), fruits, chillies (as many Indians eat very spicy food), water intake, specific ingredients like methi seeds, etc, have on the doshas.

So interesting. I am an RN and got a Body Type assessment just to learn more about other forms of healing. Leared I am 50% Vata, 40% Kapha & 10% Pitta. I have been gaining some weight in recent years, more than I really should like a Kapha - (51 years old now),- but have ALWAYS been prone to some anxiety, "brain fog" from the pressures of stress & being told "fast is not fast enough" in the modern world we live in (scattered mind), overthinking, not sleeping well, and dry skin & hair, etc.

Order doesn't matter, just make these because after watching this video I understood how one Dosha causes so many problems. While your other videos have solutions regarding them but tackling the Dosha itself would remove the problems once and for all. I hope you'll consider my request. Very relatable video Vivek! Thank you. I've got few things though - Can we use herbs like Ashwagandha right before bed? I've heard ashwagandha is hot and nourishing in nature. Also, can we consume oats? I like to have savoury oats with mushrooms and spinach.

Take twice a day, if it shows warm effect , reduce the quantity of ashwagandha and take it with half spoon of desi ghee!!

Herbs like Ashwagandha come under Rasayan chikitsa in Ayurveda and should not be taken until your agni (digestive fire) is strong enough to digest them otherwise they wont be metabolized in your body and hence would be of no use. The strength of your agni can only be assessed by an Ayurvedic doctor.

There are some mixed doshas too, like Kapha Pitta(Where Kapha is dominant over pitta and pitta dominates vata.)

Excellent video as always. But please note ginger cannot be consumed like a snack in such large quantities as you have shown. Will lead to constipation 😢 it is a medicine! Has to be taken in small doses.

Just sitting around makes vatta dosha imbalanced. Working out and eating Fenugreek soaked along with massage are really helpful. Would definitely try all other methods that you shared.

Great summary of handling vatta. I am suffering from it since last 11years. And mostly I follow all of the remedies needed but my problem which is headache is still there and I have to take 1-2 pain killers every week. I am regularly messaging my head, message body in winters, dropping ghee in nostrils in night, sitting in sunlight in winters, doing pranayam and meditation regularly, including limited quantity of home made ghee and oils in my diet and so on. But headache is not going away. I have also developed a chronic allergy where I have to take anti allergy medicine in every other day, otherwise it starts sneezing and rashes on skin. But I am still following the procedure hoping some day I will be relieved from these pains.

I have all the symptoms, currently suffering from severe joint pain. But I've visited my ayurveda doc many times with one or the other symptoms that you have mentioned but he never told me it was VATA dosha😢 or how I could control it - just take this medicine for cold that for digestion!
