It was between this (base) and a '24 Crosstrek Onyx (sport in US). Thing is a tank! Ended up going with the Crosstrek because we didn't need something so big. It's a nice car regardless.

I have the 2017 Subaru Outback Limited with the boxer 6 engine and it runs great. I got all the bells and whistles with it and it has been the best new car we ever purchased. My wife loves it and it was supposed to be my car but alas, she drives it the most.

I'd buy it for $29,000👍🏻 That's what it would've been pre-pandemic🤷🏻♂️ I'll wait until car dealerships begin to start being fair with the consumers.

Yeah it will begin to start going to these prices after 10-15 years if you can wait til then. Chip is very hard to get that is why they can’t produce many vehicle and they can only do is marked up these prices.

Not really. I bought a 2018 Limited it was $36,000. Subaru have not really increased pricing on the Outback. Even the Foresters, I started buying them 15 years ago for $20k - $23K brand new (base model). Now a base model goes for around $26K or so. In reality, Subaru have not jacked up their prices as others have.

@@michaelking42exactly, not much markup on Subarus I sold them for 3 years. Just got my 24 Outback wilderness for 40,600 ….MSRP WAS 43,680.
@michaelking429 ай бұрын
@@Jay-td5kr That's a great deal, well done! I bought my wife a 2023 Onyx in February, it was about $36K no deals to be had, but avoided markup and nuisance upcharges. Last month I bought a 2024 Onyx XT for me, it was $3K off MSRP. Prices and sales tactics are starting to get back to pre covid levels I think.

Wagons are also safer than a traditional SUV. They have bigger crumple zones and don’t tip over like Tall SUVs do.

Fun fact: The Subaru Outback was originally a trim level for the Subaru Legacy. In 1994 Subaru released the Legacy Outback to help get into the newly growing SUV market. The Legacy Outback did so well that Subaru released the Subaru Outback as its own car with its own set of trim levels in 2000. The Subaru Outback now comes in 9 trim levels and has been through 6 generations so far.

Your points are a given on a Subaru! Of course it's going to last. It will hold it's price point on resale! The Turbo has really good MPG for an AWD! Oil change on a Subaru? Keep on top of it with the right oil, like you are supposed to! Don't lend it to your brother-in-law unless you want him making excuses why he needs to borrow it every weekend!

Get the Subaru Forester, only car in. Subaru line up still 100% made in Japan. You know they perfect quality and reliability. Unfortunately made in the US has not shown quality in at least 3 decades. Good for politician to use in a campaign though. There’s a reason why Mazda and Toyota is on top when it comes to reliability. Honda and Nissan suffer hit to their reliability rankings when the partner with US brands like GM. Honda drop so bad that it’s sad.

My wife's 2017 Touring has not aged well. Especially the interior materials. It currently has 65k on it, the steering wheel leather pealed off around 25k, they would not warranty it. The foam strip behind the dash and the windshield has constantly come up, the panel gaps on the interior have gotten larger due to the shrinking of materials. The CVT is clunky below 2k rpm, Subaru says this is normal. The windshields are ultra thin due to the eyesight system, it cracks constantly. We usually end up replacing the windshield once a year. Its just not a well built car. My wife has always had Lexus or Volvos and they held up much better. I guess if you have never had a nice car, this may seem like a deal, but its not.
