Your most simple and effective exercise yet! I did this for 2 mins, followed by raising my arms flat against the wall raises while still seated and ended by standing a foot away from the wall doing look back window wipers wall swipes (Which may not be the actual term). Thanks!

Do this in bed, most nights…just laying on my side…push my neck back, chin tucked & hold it. Surprised that with consistency it’s working in my favor. Yes, I know it’s modified, but I have many other physical challenges so this currently works for me. Thank you. 😊

All good… starting my week now. I slid my lazy butt against the wall, got stable, tucked my chin, pushed my head back to the wall… lazy butt remained against the wall. Yep, felt it in my upper back, around my shoulder blades. Thanks again, Matt. (Where did you dig up that music - old ‘50’s weekly series theme music.)

Several times a year I get a pinch in my left upper Trapezius between shoulder and neck. This pain usually lasts for a week despite my trying to stretch, massage and heat pack it away. I never know what initiates it so preventing it is a mystery. Do you have any insight about the cause and prevention of this issue? Thanks ever so much! 🍀

thanks so much for this video, i guess my posture is SUPER bad, i 1) can't touch the wall with my butt, and 2) my head is naturally arching backward so i just tried to pull in my chin as much as possible - is that fine to get started?

Does your back touches all the way to wall? I have a part between lower back above pelvic and the bottom of my ribs that doesn’t touch the wall. I am confused between spine has a natural curve Vs. bad posture. Thanks!

Just tried this! I have *really* bad posture and so I sat my lazy butt down to do this exercise and um, my left calf muscle started to cramp and even with my prodigious posterior against the wall and my shoulder, neck, and head aligned, I can still fit my hand behind my lower back. Maybe, I’ll keep trying this one to see how it changes in a week. 😬

I have tried the sock behind the neck in the car. This seems more doable as in the car it made driving seem weird. Thanks update to come.

First time trying. I did two reps and now my back feels like jello like when I try to walk I'm going to fold in half. Definitely felt it and felt it opening my chest. I really hope this works, I'll leave another comment in a week!

What if you do the same but lay on the floor and raise your feet/legs on a chair or low bed to keep your butt flat on the floor?

Been doing this for a week, my butt keeps wanting to slide out from the wall and my chin is hard to tuck in and keep it that way. I’ve been hunched backed for most of my life. I do stretching exercises to my chest and shoulder’s and roll on a rumble roller regularly. I will keep doing this and see how it goes. Thank you for the advice.

Furkan Sama This stretching exercise definitely loosens up the back but will it by itself cure/fix it I don’t know. Do you know what is causing it: the spine, chest muscles…. Go to a good physical therapist (physical terrorist), have them assess you and follow their plan. Good luck to you

Bruh I've been doing this for 2 months, the only benefit so far is that I actually remember not to go into lazy mode. The only thing I hate about this practice is that I don't have a chin when I tuck it lol

This reminds me of the chin tuck exercise Dr Mew recommends to correct posture, I think a lot of us will have no chin when doing this lol

@@hellomyser68 alone it's not effective, but maybe with other exercises it can make a difference. Besides at least you are aware and won't relax ur back all the time. Idk I'm not an expert

Okay If I'm too close I can't bend my knees properly and if I I do bend them it feels like there is too much of gap between me and the wall, is that okay I can still feel it in my upper back and mid back but I wonder about the gap maybe over time it might get closer?

Hey friend plz help.... I am 29 male. My right shoulder is bit upper side that left ( imbalance) I noticed it in 2010. In 2019 at age 25 neck pain started and cervical kyphosis detected. One doctor said its by birth can't reversed but can be controlled. Another doctor said its beacuse of posture and can be reversed. The biggest mistake of my lofe i ignored exercises told by doctor. Today in 2023 pain has raised to both hand and chest rib uncomfortablness along with neck. Hand gets tingling and numb completely sometimes while sleeping. Your videos helpes a lot. I have started exercise suggested back in 2019, it feels quite good but numbness while sleeping happens." Is this kyphosis condition really reversible?" Doc plz guide. The pain and tingling, numbing making me depressed dy by day.

Maybe try chiropractor first. But a good one, like dr. Tubio. Many chiros aren't good.

I love his stuff but the forward upper body is all he’s dealing with in this exercise. Tight psoas is what pulls the upper body forward. It’s due to excessive sitting. Psoas connects the lower spine to the legs.

Chin tucks are terrible for you. I was doing them bc advice from most chiros and physiotherapist is to do them. They hurt after a while of doing them and they do nothing except make things worse. Its abnormal to put our necks into that position
