Even if you buy a new switch, it might only last for a year like the one we bought. Instead of buying a new one we cleaned up the switch and put some dielectric grease on it. This will reduce the arcing so the switch will last longer Ps102-21 6600JB1010A 6600jb1010k

I busted up the current defunct light switch before it *finally* popped out. Now, I can’t unplug the damn thing! Ha! My boyfriend got it unplugged with a jar gripper & a pair of pliers! Installed the new switch & I’m almost crying. I can’t stop opening and closing my fridge door to see bright light and hear angels singing. Also a painful reminder that now that I can see inside, I have to seriously clean it. I had gone for YEARS thinking I’d need to hire a guy to take the whole fridge apart and charge me $800 to change out a light switch. Thank GOD for your KZbin video! ❤🥹

do you apply the dielectric grease to the contacts or just the surrounding area?

Good stuff. Thank you! Mine had that same residue from arcing, but on the other set of contacts. I just cleaned both sets off with my finger and ran a nail file across the contacts, and the old one is still working perfectly again.

would this be the cause of dimmed lights? I tested the light strip with a 9volt battery and it seemed fine, but when it's inside the refrigerator, the lights are extremely dim.
