She’s suing for the security deposit, moving costs, extermination costs, and storage fees. The defendant argues the plaintiff’s husband broke a fuel pipe and she stopped paying, so he needed to evict her. He’s countersuing for additional rent.

What happened to the “clean hands doctrine” that the judge has often explained to us? Neither the plaintiff nor the defendant has clean hands so neither one should get any help in court. They should both get zero. If that means one side loses more money than the other that’s just too bad for them. That’s what happens when criminals choose to commit crimes with other criminals. I am disappointed in Judge Milian for this ruling. She just rewarded a cheater right after yelling at her for cheating other people out of their fair share of the pie. Did she make this ruling only because this show is ending so she won’t have to face a new season of cases where both sides are cheating but expect her to choose which side is “more right” than the other? I hope this won’t be a new attitude or behavior in her new show. Overall I’m a big fan of hers so I hope she goes back to her usual ethical self!
