I have a webcam plugged into my Xbox Series X and I'm using a wireless headset. Everything used to work fine when I would stream to Twitch through Xbox (not the Xbox Twitch app) and talk through my mic. Then randomly my microphone on my webcam started picking up my voice instead of my headset mic. I've hard reset my box 3 times, looked for firmware updates, looked through a ton of settings, etc. I can't figure out why it did that or how to change it back. People can hear me through my webcam mic, but the quality is terrible. So I have to unplug my webcam to chat to people and I can't stream the way I used to (yes I know there are other ways of streaming like using a laptop). I've tried 3 different webcams and 4 different mid range wireless headphones. All work without the webcam plugged in but every time when I plug the webcam back in, that mic takes over. On the PC there is a super easy way to change it but I just don't see anything like that on my Xbox. Anyone any ideas?

Ok guys so if you are wondering how to fix the head chat mixer not moving you have to unplug your headset and replug your headset a lot. @@lulupullen8673 I have a Solution: Your Headset must be plugged in. Go in a Party. Then plug ur headset out. Then back in. Ant then leave. This worked for me. If it doesn’t work first try, go in Party Settings and Chance something (not important what). Then Chance the Settings back to Standart and then plug ur headset back in and leave. Try this so many times and don’t stop until it work. Tell me if it work.

Mines blue tooth (turtle beach 700) and the chat mixer is geared and it says to use the headset and the little moving thing doest work it makes beeping and only SOME TIMES it goes up by a small amount then back down. Really annoying and I can find a fix

Good stuff, though I'm afraid my issue has not been resolved. I've taken the steps listed, plugged and unplugged the jack slowly, cleaned both attachments, but I am at a loss. When i go to accessories to see if there's an update, i found that the UI has changed, and there is no longer a way to check for firmware updates. I understand microsoft is wanting to move away from the xbox one series, so perhaps there are no more updates to be had? This issue persists across three headsets and two controllers, two new headsets and one new controller. Am I boned, sir?

Nothings really helped me out, my headset works fine on my pc and phone, but I think it has something to do with the controller. Hello? I am having some technical difficults and am hoping someone can help. Hey man could you please help me out? I have turtle beach stealth 600s (they are Bluetooth) and recently they broke. I then got another pair that was the exact same make and model and connected them to my Xbox (I have a series x) and now my mic monitoring will not work. It was automatically turned off when I connected the headset the first time and it won't let me adjust it, turn it on or off etc. On my previous pair of the exact same headphones I never had this problem. When I go to try and adjust it in the audio hub everything is grayed out. I've checked everything all my software and firmware is all up to date so can you please give some suggestions on how to fix this?

Ok but what if it is wireless? I feel like there is a simple fix to this and I do not know because it is no where on KZbin. If I go to chat mixer it is all the way to game audio only so I can't hear my party. It reads, "Use your headset or other device to change the volume," and my headset's usb is plugged in to the xbox. Hey so I’ve tried everything and mic monitoring still isn’t working for me i.e. I still cannot hear myself. I have a turtle beach headset and use the adapter it came with as it is wired. If I use my headset without the adapter I have a static sound which is annoying lol. Out of nowhere the issues happened. Because I use the adapter I don’t have access to the audio settings and cannot edit the mic monitoring settings or any settings. I’ve tried unplugging both pieces, updating the controller, turning and resetting my Xbox, reconnecting my controller. Going into settings and changing them. My adapter isn’t broken as I can still mute, change the volume settings for both game and chat. I’ve also tried to mess with the volume on the adapter. There also isn’t any volume settings on the headset. Other than not being able to hear myself everything is fine but is it driving me crazy because this wasn’t an issue before. Any tips!?
