Fix Your Glarry

For the most part, Glarry makes good economical products. Their quality is not all that poor. They are excellent instruments to work on and for beginners to learn on. Once I set them up (as shown in this video), I play them often. They sound good and are easy to play.

Always tighten your electronics with the pick guard off so you can hold the pots and not twist the wires!

The small holes next to the pots are for the pots themselves. That is the pots have a small tab along the edge which fits into those wholes to anchor them so they don't spin (the whole pot that is not just the shaft) when turned. Otherwise if the whole pot spins it could pull off the wiring.

I got one from a separate factory seller off of Ebay in December of 2019. I had to file only 3 high frets and shim the neck. The stock pickups were fine. But, I wanted hotter ones. So, I did a full 'loaded pickguard' upgrade with it. It rapidly became my favorite Strat-style guitar I've ever played (and yes, I've owned and played Fenders)! The lightweight body is so easy to deal with and the YiBuy loaded pickguard is perfect. If someone knows what they're doing, the Glarry guitars are a real bargain! I'd GLADLY play live with mine. And, yes, dime pots can sound excellent. Size doesn't matter with them. Any size pot can be good or bad.

Agreed. They are comfortable. Too, I bought this for playing out in places where I don't want to bring an expensive guitar.

First, thank you for the videos! I just found your channel and your explanation is very clear. I just had multiple surgeries and heard glarry guitars are very light so I'm going to get one. Would you please recommend a drop-in replacement for the bridge? I won't be able to do much work for a long while. Thank you

Glarry makes good Strats, Teles and basses, but most of their other guitars are complete junk. The GT102 (Ovation imitation) is ok too I guess. The GMF Mustang copies were a disaster because they're impossible to intonate properly, the GIZ 335 copies were discontinued shortly after they started making them because they were so bad. I can't speak to the quality of their other instruments, like flutes, violins and drums, but only a few of their guitars are passable.

Good Point, Gamer! Sometimes the cost of 'improving' a guitar can be more expensive than the guitar itself!! So, you may want to try the methods in this video.
