If you read the manual it says to never run a pressure washer without the water hooked up. You can burn up the pump very quickly. I had a friend borrow mine and started it without the water being on and it was the last time it worked until I replaced the pump. I did like the way you reviewed what the problem was and how you fixed it.

You're absolutely right. And I had to go back and view the video again. If you look carefully, you'll see a gray garden hose running from behind the motorhome up to the pressure washer. I assure you I did not run the engine without the water supply hooked up and turned on. Admittedly, it's not real obvious in the video, but the water line is indeed connected. Thank you for your note!

The "Electric Start", is nice for those of us who have Bursitis in our shoulders. That's when "yanking" a cord can really hurt. Now... If I could find someone who knows how to fix the electric start on these machines.

Sorry, Dail. I guess I wasn't too much help for you on this one! Good luck.

Same. I tested the battery and the charger and they both work. It makes a little notice but doesn’t start. I’m 99% sure the starter solenoid if going out and it’s about $180 to replace it 😭

I have the same model and mine leaks actually as a result of a bad engine casing - there is a 'journal' up under the OHC cover and in bind that there is a TINY shaft that sticks out form the engine itself not sure what it attaches to inside maybe a valve lifter or something but the shaft is very clearly THROUGH the case of the engine and OIL leaks like crazy from there if if its not wunning oil seems to weep out. I have it on a cardboard and its always covered in oil!
@christopherwells3722 жыл бұрын
Did you check the crank seal?
@Buckwsr2 жыл бұрын
I did not check that. Whatever the leak was, it was not very substantial. This machine belong to my neighbor, and he has not complained of any on-going issues.... Of course, he hasn't spoken to me since then....just kidding!
@rickjames69483 жыл бұрын
Lower crank seal or someone changed the oil and didn't clean up the engine mount. Is that the drain plug below the starter and oil dipstick tube?
@Buckwsr3 жыл бұрын
don't think it's the crank seal, or else the pump would be covered with dirty oil, but it's not. But you might be right about a messy oil change done previously. Thanks for the note!

What kind of oil did you use?
@Adrian-lg3mj3 жыл бұрын
I'm no expert but could it be detergent from the soap tank coming back through since it was noticed when taking the water hose off ?
@Buckwsr3 жыл бұрын
You could be on to something there! Thank you.

Might want to put some 30w oil on that foam air filter. Running it dry will pass a ton of dirt into the engine.

Thanks for the video. Mine has a similar problem. It is my perception that this specific pressure washer can be purchased with various different brand names on the front, such as Subaru, Honda, Yamaha, and even no-name-brand. They all have the same (Chinese?) engine and only differ in the brand name on the pressure washer and maybe a few other minor details and items in the box. I have the exact same model, except instead of Subaru brand on it, mine has "Yamaha", everything else appears exactly the same. the color, the wheels, the stickers on the back, the hose and the connector. If the brand labels were covered up, you could not determine which brand it is. Bottomline, the brand name is simply marketing\licensing to entice buyers into thinking they are getting a product manufactured by a well-known auto company known for their high-quality products. Not suggesting this is either a good or bad pressure washer, just pointing out that several YT videos that address various problems, thus you can ignore the brand name if they look like the one in this video.

It’s happened to my unit when I overfilled fuel tank with fuel valve open, i would close fuel valve, take air filter out, give it a moment for fumes to evaporate and crank it again and ran it for a while to make sure there’s no leak before reinstalling cleaned air filter

Does anybody know if the car has a float and needle? Ever since I bought mine new I've had to remember to shut the fuel off or a will lose it all onto the garage floor. Is this normal or is it an issue with the float and/or needle?

Yes, it sounds like you have a needle/seat issue with your carburetor float.

This machines are lightweight, and excellent at 3,100 psi. I own one. The starter comes in handy when I am already out of air that if I go again and pull the starter string I might die 😅. So, tbe starter is a dream. But, after 6 years my starter’s Bendix gave up. Nowe here to find a Bendix for that excellent mini starter
@Buckwsr2 жыл бұрын
Glad it's running well for you! I've always thought that if I've got enough strength to actually use a pressure washer, then I've probably got enough strength to pull the starter rope a time or two to get it started. Good luck!

Draining all the gas out over a long period of time is bad on a small engine carb especially if the gas has ethanol in it. It will gum up the jets best thing to do is just add a fuel stable for small engines I replace a many carbs for customers from being gummed up
