Dude!, im working on my kids buddy's car I hate small cars! I typically work on old 1970-90 trucks both diesel and petrol but I gotta say this helped me narrow down. Like you I thoroughly cleaned the engine with power purple, his appears to be coming from the upper area where the PVC valve is, the turbo inlet hose is just filled with oil reminds me of a 2002 Subaru I had, drinking oil like crazy, thanks for the time to upload this.

I got me a 2006 SDI Golf and it has a minor oil leak. Service is due but I need to fix the leak ASAP before replacing the oil. I traced it back to the rear of the engine somewhere from the exhaust or intake manifolds But it makes no sense to me there shouldnt be oil at the intake or exhaust! Advice ? SDI so no turbo I replaced the valve cover gasket because it was suspect but nothing changed!

If you're standing in front of the car looking under the hood, is this bolt on the left , right, front or back of the engine? And did you have to remove anything to gain access to the bolt?

@@Joecuzzi Right side. Don't have the car anymore, but I believe you'd need to remove the battery at a minimum. Hope all goes well!

I have some oil leak under the transmission box, where it could come from? Can you update your description and write exactly the causes of your leak? Thanks

I am having the exact same oil running pattern as this where it runs on that mating surface between the trans and engine but I cannot pin point where the leak is coming from...I have a mk6 gti 2.0t CCTA

Rear main is blown out. Common issue with CCTA on my Tiguan.

@@tumdeax Thank you. Figured it out not long after. I replaced the seal and it's all good now.

@@Rhosticks I'm not sure how many miles you've got on your vw, but remember to change out the O-ring WHT 007 212 B I have a video a CCTA with a HARDENED upper timing chain gasket which you may I need to replace someday.
