many steer boxes have a little allen head bolt you can adjust for tightness. nova sounds good.

If Ike admits a vehicle is unsafe, then it's definitely unsafe! I think the Nova sounds pretty good and I like how the exhaust guy tucked those tips on the sides like he did. They're there if you want to see them but not hanging down silly if you don't.

The Nova sounds great. Love those old Chevy Trucks. I have a 2002, 4.8L 2wd. I just rebuilt the rear brakes. One rotor went bad which was weird. Great tribute to your dad.

Once again you have made fun video out of a day in the life of fixing your rides. I was so surprised how nice Nova sounded. Did similar to my 69 falcon 6 but put on a header and true duel exhaust but your sounded great. Nova nice shape. Still recovering from semi hit but videos like this make days more enjoyable take care don’t let hurricane Helene get ya

I absolutely love the fact that my steering wheel is not centered when driving straight in the exact same way as yours is and I’ve got one of the same beat around Suburbans.

Dig the exhaust. The startup sounded just like a mid to late 90's F-body...same setup. One pipe into the transverse muffler, with dual tails. Nice little car!

There are a few KZbin videos showing how to adjust the steering box to get the looseness out of it. Might have saved you buying a new steering box. Nova looked like it was running way rich when you were backing it off the trailer after the new, really good sounding, exhaust! Now a few light mods to the 262 and it may run like it sounds......🙂

I’ll be honest I had a 2002 GM or sorry Chevy Suburban and I had a Flowmaster on it and because of the big passenger compartment you don’t want it, it drones
@michaelkimmey8182
@michaelkimmey8182 3 ай бұрын
If you ever use a vehicle for towing never put flowmasters on it. There are a few companies that can master the droning like MPI but for the most part what little power you gain it is not worth the headache.

That year I'd be checking brake lines. Got lucky twice my brakes crapped out twice in the yard. Both times i was towing a trailer with something on it. Check the main brake lines seems like they are the ones going out. And expensive to have put on trust me expensive.

i had a 262 nova it would run 80 mph all day. until you turned on the a/c then it would run 65 mph. but i guess it was a good thing the speed limit was 55 across America back them. nut it was a pretty barny purple car. so i ended up turning it into a dirt track car. but who knew everyone would want them now days.

You use assembly lube because everything is very tight at first start up after it's broken it has micro grooves worn in the bearings that hold the oil when it's brand new these don't exist yet and that's why you use assembly lube .

Something I've never thought about before but do you have something similar to our annual MOT test to check for roadworthiness, emissions, vehicle safety over there?
@SaneCayne
@SaneCayne 3 ай бұрын
Varies from state to state. I'm in Virginia and we have a basic, visual safety inspection every year, but no emissions (unless there's an obvious hole or leak in the exhaust the safety inspector sees). Some states have neither a safety nor an emissions test. Others have very stringent ones, like California.

You should really do yourself a favor and ditch those rubber brake lines for braided brake lines. braided lines will not try to coil up under heavy braking and give you more control through the pedals movement.
