Should build a little jetty out into the dam and maybe one little grass bank but keeping natural definitely looks great

TifTuf establishes insanely quick. I laid mine in a cold Canberra early March and it was still enough time for it to fully establish before first frost in April. Absolutely mental. PS: Get some water plants for the dam too - spruce it up a bit. But yeah otherwise leave the surrounds they look mad.

I'm in Canberra too but got my TifTuf down a bit later in early-April. Was not pretty by end of Winter, but has established and greened up nicely now. Had me worried for a while! Hopefully it will fair better this Winter.

@@PedalPilgrim Word of warning is that she will be smashed every winter. My go to is to start setting height of cut higher as the temps drop. Then in spring I either do a full on renno or just give her a scalp down to dirt and a top dress and she comes back nicely. Canberra has a ton of lawn grub, African black beetle, and scarab beetle too so you'll want to make sure you've treated your lawn a couple of weeks before scalping it and again afterwards to make sure it heals properly. The Yates branded stuff is the go, steer clear of the rich and grow stuff - I used it this year out of desperation and low and behold my lawn is still recovering from renno 8 weeks later.

Silver perch are algae eaters mate so they'll be stoked and well fed... a long chain dragged through the dam from each side might help get rid of some of that plant that's choking the dam give the fish some swim space... personally I think the rougher and more native you leave surrounds of the dam the better...I'd be adding to it. No trees they'll cause leaks. But some grevilleas banksias or something bring some colour into the sea of green 👍🏿

Throw a couple of handfuls of dry cat food into the dam. It’s floats on the surface and and you can see the fish come to the surface and eat it. That’s how we feed our silver perch in our dam. They love it.

Everything is really looking good. Dump question: What is the name of the sand. What would I ask for at the garden supplies. Thanks for another great video, I do appreciate all the work you do to get these videos out. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.

The Silver Perch will be fine probably would recommend a water fountain in the dam for oxidation.

Hey Ben, using your GDD calculator on the LawnJournal app and it spits out very different numbers to the Syngenta one. Is there any reason for this? I’m using the 10° base temp because I have warm season grass

So I just laid my new TifTuf law last Thursday, I have approximately 128^2m and I’m thinking I need to order a bunch of stuff now. Do you bundle these items together on the website?

You should put a solar fountain ⛲ in the middle. Will help to get some airflow in the dam and keep some ducks 🦆 away
