Snipping the wires was pretty smart, most other tutorials show them removing the whole board to desolder the battery directly.

Thank you man. After I've replaced all correctly my nano didn't get "on" so I couldn't understand why, even after connecting the recharge wire the same. So I firstly thought it was a bad new battery and just welded again an old one to make sure it still works. And fortunalty it was. After that I've welded again a new battery but before closing everythin I've connected the wire for recharge as you did in this video just to make sure it works. Don't know how but I did it !

hmmm i bet a 501235 3.7V 180mAh battery would fit... its 5mm thick instead of the OG battery which is ~2.5mm, but it doesnt have nearly as much wasted dimensions from the crimp around the parameter and is several years newer design. could probably find those extra 2.5mm by gluing around the battery and either leaving the "metal bracket" off or cutting it across so it doesnt cover on top of the battery. im sure there is a mm or two tolerance by design due to battery expansion. this simple change would increase the capacity by 80% and also would be much cheaper as a generalized battery source.

its cause the stock of these ipod nano 6th gen is very old. they stopped manufacturing these soo many years ago and since then these batteries have been sitting ducks unused which kills the batteries. just replace the battery and you should be fine

you have to remove the sticker of the battery as it adds a little thickness to it. you can also press/put a little pressure to the battery's circuit so you can align it with its thickness/height. 😊😊😊

Where could I find a replacement battery for this that was manufactured *recently* (not ten years ago)? I once tried to find a battery for a retired Gameboy Advance (made in 2004). The battery I received LOOKED new...mint in package and still factory sealed. However, it was *manufactured* over ten years ago, so it was already dead before I even bought it. This iPod Nano is almost 10 years old. Are there any battery manufacturers that still make batteries for old Apple and Nintendo devices? (I’m looking for a Kindle battery as well)

FWIW, this is probably a standard sized battery that's still in production. the GBA SP is a special case, as they put their batteries in... well, a special case. They don't produce the shells any more, but there's now a mod you can do which lets you fit a standard battery into the SP.
@Vmurph
@Vmurph 2 жыл бұрын
@@Charky_Creations Thanks! Where can I find that mod, and what is it called? As far as the GBA SP’s battery case, if I could find what went IN the case, I could simply open up one of my dead ones and put the new one that case. But I’d love to find that mod.
@Charky_Creations
@Charky_Creations 2 жыл бұрын
@@Vmurph it's generally called the "makho battery mod" after the guy who designed it, but it's basically just a pcb that you solder the cell to so it creates contacts for the SP. You can do it yourself or buy one prebuilt.
