what if its metal seal? i got an evo 1995 can i remove it from the outside or do i need to take out the primary case? also do i replace it with metal replacement or the new ones made from plastic*?

You do not need to remove the outer primary cover to remove the seal. You can pierce the seal with a pick & pry it out. It does not matter if the seal is metal or metal/rubber coated. Related videos: www.fixmyhog.com/video/stripped-harley-shifter-shaft-009555/
