Omg you've explained so much. I especially appreciate the part where you mentioned putting the rubber part closer to the scalp so the rods don't dangle. Not a hairstylist so never made that connection despite doing perms for my son at home a few times.

Another awesome perm / perm video from FJ. Love it. Growing my hair for a perm like this. Just wish FJ had a salon in Australia.

@FjCuts When I partition my hair in the middle, the left side of my hair is long, the right side is shorter. Do I need to balance it to the same length on both sides to get a perm?

You should even your hair out so the perm comes out better. The person perming your hair will have an easier time too!

So basically the perms I do is none heat. Other salons/hairdressers would use heat with the perm which damage the hair more. But I advice my client how to look after their hair after the perm.

Depending on the texture, health or perm used one is able to have a perm over a slightly grown out perm. I do recommend to trim the ends. Make sure you take straight parting as not to put unnecessary pressure on uneven hair parting. Try to wrap as smoothly as possible. Your curl will conform to how it's rolled. When twisting the rubber band to hold the rod in place can cause breakage at the root or will add a band line. When growing out will show. Your parting should be the with of the rod you're using.

Where on earth did you do your training over so many mistakes made in this perming video solution for a hour no way, young man. I do not upload videos to KZbin but well over 50 years of perm here
