@erosion271I’m sorry but nothing about “The Batman” chase puts you in the middle of it. Nor is it better edited or film than this one. It completely lacks a sense of space, it feels detached from its environment, and overall fails to create any sense of emotion.
@animator-aditya10 ай бұрын
@erosion271 That's precisely why it's so poorly done. It fails to create a sense of space, or anticipation, there's no sense of impact of the action taking place. It's devoid of any emotion or suspense. Good filmmaking is using the tools of cinema to create emotion. The camera being bolted onto the cars does not amount to good filmmaking because it fails to have any emotional impact. Half of the scene is a close up of Batman, where it's a single expression on his face. It conveys nothing and it's wasted film. It's not good filmmaking, in my opinion. "The Batman" is a good movie on the whole, don't get me wrong. But the chase in that movie is shockingly poorly made. Look at this chase from "Batman Begins", look at how the filmmaking disappears and you're caught up in the euphoria of the chase. The way the police react to the Batmobile, their shock and awe. The way the Batmobile crushes its environment. There's a pause in the action for a moment when the Batmobile is lost in the darkness, then re-appears. It creates an an ebb-and-flow to the sequence. On top of all that, Rachel being drugged gives the scene urgency, a metaphorical ticking-time-bomb. Filmmaking is more than bolting a camera onto two cars on a vague highway with no sense of direction.
