Posted on behalf of Walter Bislin - I will be covering his blog in a future video. walter.bislins.ch/bloge/index.asp?page=GPS+Flight+Data+and+the+Shape+of+the+Earth I have downloaded the GPS flight data from the flight and imported it into my "GPS Flight Data Visualisation App" on the blog page "GPS Flight Data and the Shape of the Earth". This App allows me to measure and calculate many values directly from the data, like position in lat/long or X,Y,Z ECEF coordinates, altitude, distance, speed and vertical speed between any 2 data points for flat earth and globe and more in metric and aviation units. It also calculates the drop of the nose between 2 selected points. Here are the data from the flight runway to runway directly calculated from the GPS data for globe and flat earth model: Flight time: 17:26 hours Total dip angle measured: 134.9° = 1° / 60 nmi = 1° / 111.2 km Distance flown point to point on the globe model: 8,120 nmi = 15,039 km Sum of great circle distances between points: 8,107 nmi = 15,015 km Distance flown point to point on the flat earth model: 31,387 nmi = 58,128 km (3.87 times too far) Mean ground speed on the globe model: 465.5 kt = 862 km/h Mean ground speed on the flat earth model: 1,799.4 kt = 3,332 km/h = Mach 3.1 at 40,000 ft altitude Maximal ground speed on the globe model: 497 kt = 920 km/h Ground speed at -74.8 lat on the globe model: 460 kt = 852 km/h Ground speed at -74.8 lat on the flat earth model: 2,361 kt = 4,373 km/h = Mach 4.1 (5.13 times too fast)

Hi Wolfie, love your vid content. I was especially glad you addressed the psych sitting behind the agro. If I might suggest a slight variation on definitions, I perceive “happiness” and the pursuit of it, as fleeting and very subjective state (affected by so many factors), based on feelings ‘at that moment’. So two people might be on a flight, and one is happy, while the other terrified. “Joy” is a much more deeply grounded feeling which seems to be more associated with relationships and state of mind. Hence I can experience great joy, even in the darkest of circumstances. I believe that when we focus on the things that bring us joy, happiness occurs far more frequently, and, the darker situations still occur, but are less likely to drag us down. I wish you and yours a wonderful life, filled with much love and joy and peace. Please do keep up the excellent content!

3:30 "I realize that many Flat Earthers disagree with him, and I respect that". Personally, I don't respect it at all. At least Banjo is willing to put his faith in a map. At least he has the courage of his convictions, even if he is blind to its considerable flaws. Most of the time the flerfs that disagree with the AE map aren't doing so because they have an alternative proposition. They are doing so because they know that, not only does the AE map have major flaws, but so do ALL other flat earth maps. Their lack of willingness to propose a map is because they know that, the moment they propose one, they will have to explain all of the problems with it, and then be exposed as either a liar or a fool. It's basically an arguing tactic, to avoid having to stand behind their claims by making those claims hard to pin down. In my experience, and in my opinion, anyone who refuses to propose a map doesn't really believe the earth is flat.

It’s not even really about simple arithmetic or geometry, or observations and measurement. The entire thing is about these people being angry, paranoid and negative and finding a conspiratorial community outlet to feed into all of that. It’s why there’s so much overlap between flat-earthism and other nonsense. The difference between people making the videos on either side could not be more clear. @TheWombat20122 жыл бұрын
Yes they did. I think it was in “Behind The Curve”. Wherever I first saw them claim that, I watched it and was honestly confused and had to rewind and check when they said there were “no direct flights from Southern Hemisphere destinations to north”. A short while before I saw that video, we had returned to Australia from a US holiday, and going and coming, we flew a direct flight from Sydney to San Francisco and back again. 😂

SAA have been doing flights JoBerg to Perth and return for years, taking a great circle route over the south Indian Ocean almost to the Antarctic circle. The regular flights ( pre Covid) Melbourne-Santiago and return almost cut across parts of Antarctica, which is directly opposite to the flat-earthers “model”, which would have the same flight traversing the North Pole or following an impossibly long route arcing through the South Pacific… but then invent supersonic jetstreams that allow a B747 to travel 40,000 miles in 13 hours, jetstreams that mysteriously “reverse” to allow a return flight in the same time, but then deny that there are any E-W flights in the Southern Hemisphlat…Of course NASA is hiding the “Truth”, but don’t mention the other 30+ space agencies of different countries around the earth, because they are all working for NASA as part of the cover-up!😂🤣😂🤣😅😅

If its the video I recall that distance is possible. A youtuber called Seen Through Glass "Our 5000 mile journey across Australia" His aim was to travel across 36 countries in 12 months, trying to discover what car culture was like around the world What Banjo failed to mention is this trip started in Brisbane with driving around Brisbane and a 150km round trip to Australia Zoo before they even departed south. Following the coast down to Sydney with sight seeing diversions along the way. Through Melbourne following the coast to Adelaide then across the Eyre Hwy. The video didn't show which direction he went from Norseman as it cut to Perth. as this guy likes driving I would assume he went south to Esperance and followed the coast through Albany/Augusta up to Perth. You add that distance with sight seeing and car event meetups 8000km would be no problem. What's funny is the KZbinr also has a video "LA to Miami 12 miles" I guess Eddy didn't want to use that as it wouldn't look right on the AE map.

If Australia is 8000 km wide (flerflogical given its 'southern' location, just as Antartica is a ring completely around the world), how freaking long is NZ? To fit a similar map it must be stretched out to 1000s of km as well. And yet you can drive it...odd, that.

Banjo Is not really consistent with holding the flat Earth belief. Flat means the sites like flightradar are lying all the time yet Banjo accepts their data as factual. I wonder if he is getting pushback from true Flat Earth believers for his silly position. Glober blowback he could ignore but flattie derision would hurt. It is like Banjo works for that sweet positive feedback, it isn't working for QA14, and he can't see what is different.

Great video Wolfie!! That section on his tail-wind claim and watching it fall apart under the lightest of scrutiny was beautiful. I had fun pointing out to Banjo that even if QF14 had flown the flat-Earth direct path near the north pole, it would have been an 18,000 mile, 35+ hour flight. A 787-9 would have to carry nearly double its 296,000 lb load capacity just in fuel alone to make that flight & would be 50% over max takeoff weight. And that’s not including any passengers, crew, baggage, etc. Going south and skirting Australia on the AE map would practically double the distance and flight time compared to the north AE route. It’s not even close to physically possible for a 787-9 to fly either route.
