They were harassing me, bullying me through email and when we were in court, he continued screaming and shouting. At the end, I won. I've moved before and received instructions on packing fragile items. Bubble wrap and shrink wrapped so the item is visible for inspection. They will bring and wrap with moving blankets for items that are more prone to be damaged. Most contracts say the moving company isn't responsible for damage beyond the average weight or you pay for the additional insurance.

The planttiffs witness finally told the truth about the TV during the interview in the hall. "The TV was broken after the move." Yep, that's what happens you drop or hit a TV while you're unpacking it, lol. The planttiffs knew that they broke it, that's why they called the renters insurance company and not the movers who they also had insurance through. "Not everybody knows how renters insurance works," she should try reading the policy that she received. Ignorance is not an excuse.

We use movers everytime we move and they absolutely ask to see certain items that have been pre packed to make sure nothing is broken before it goes into the truck.

I had to turn the volume down on the plaintiff's girlfriend (or excuse me "associate" she's a recording artist -- a very shrill and loud like nails on a chalkboard shrill). I don’t know if the defendant’s witness was telling the truth or not, however, as someone who has moved a lot while in the military, I can tell you that it is not unreasonable to believe that a mover might ask to see a high-dollar valued item that was customer packed to ascertain whether there is pre-existing damage, which will then be noted on the packing list. Most of the time, though, they just indicate “CP” (Customer Packed) on the packing list which basically absolves them from liability. If you are shipping high-dollar valued items, it’s best to let the movers pack them, that way, if they’re broken in transit, you know who’s responsible.
