If Flatzoid had half the common sense of a turkey, he would understand that since he lives in the southern hemisphere, he observes a sun path that is around the South Pole, which is in the compete opposite direction of the flat earth sun around the North Pole, and also what is observed in the northern hemisphere. Hate to be pedantic with a pedant like Flatzoid, but I'd like to query his concept of " ...standing at the GP of Polaris... ". Polaris does not HAVE a singular GP, just like every other astronomical object, merely a GP at any chosen moment in time. Contrary to what flerfs believe & claim, " Polaris" is NOT exactly at the Earth's northern pole of rotation, always has been, & always will be. ( 'Polaris' is actually a three star system, a doublet UMi Aa & UMi Ab, and another nearby star UMi B, which perform a complex dance around their barycentres. UMi B is very faint, requiring a good telescope to distinguish it. What we see is basically UMi Aa/b, so it is figures for that which I will use. ) UMi Aa/b currently has a declination of 89° 15' 50.8", meaning that it is 44' 9.2" away from the pole` [ 0.7359° ], describing a very tight circle. To put it another way, the GP of 'Polaris' describes a circle around one of the several defined 'North Poles', that of the 'axis of rotation'. 0.7359°, at the usual conversion of 1° = 60 Nm gives a radius of 44.153Nm. Some very simple level maths shows that this gives a circle of 101.62statute miles dia, & a circumference of 319.25 miles. To 'stand' at the GP of Polaris, you would actually have to be jogging on at a fairly healthy 13.30mph, and if you can do that for any sustained length of time, I suggest you take up professional marathon running.

It's worth pointing out [ yet again! ] that any selected point on that circle of potential GPs describes one rotation in 24 hrs, just like the Earth itself That's 0.000694 °/min. As shown, it is spinning at 13.3 mph, NOT 1040mph, or any other crazy number. That's the absurdity of trying to describe angular rotation speed as a linear speed.

You can show the sun in Antarctica on a globe in Australia, with the shadow from the ”south pole” (and the terminator) doing 15 degrees / hour, with no change in lenght of the shadow from the pole.
