Spray up with distilled vinegar mold hates it. Leave on as long as possible before cleaning. Bit smelly but better than those spores going into lungs.

Colin never complains and has a wonderful sense of humor. His strength and his amazing temperament are exemplary. AND he can do anything. He can fix a roof, frame a bathroom, do landscaping and lift 100 lbs. He is flawless. Ben, Dad and Paul are a dream team. Big shout-out to Liam from Southeast Scrap!!! Ben, this is not a criticism but I'm a retired nurse - when you remodel a bathroom, please consider installing handrails or what is often called grab-bars. Handrails in showers are especially needed for the elderly to help prevent slips & falls!!! A grab-bar beside a toilet is also helpful. Otherwise, this makeover was brilliant!!! Amen sister! I recently had my bathtub converted to a shower and I made sure that there were enough grab bars for me to safely maneuver in it as well as a nice wide deep seat. I’m 57, weigh 400 pounds, and have severe arthritis in my ankles. So those aspects are absolutely critical for me.

Absolutely amazing ❤❤. Carol is such a lovely lady and you can clearly see how grateful she is. She’s such a tiny thing all full of smiles, she makes my heart melt. You done so much more than just updating a bathroom, you have improved her quality of life and potentially saved her life. Being continuously exposed to all that mold, on a daily basis would have eventually made her sick. Mold is lot more serious then some people think, I knew someone who refinished old furniture and he had to have the bottom of his lung removed after being exposed to black mold in an antique sofa. Well done guys!! P. S. I noticed a lot more work being done and a lot less goofing off when Ben’s not there. Now we all know who’s the big prankster of the group. 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤

The mold! I’m having an asthma attack just looking at it! You all should be wearing respirators! You aren’t just making it nice but you’re making it safe. My last apartment had mold. My landlord refused to acknowledge or deal with it. My parting gift was reporting him to the city. He had to remediate it before renting it again. This was hard to watch until the repairs started. The shower is wonderful! So much more useful when you’re older. You all rock!

When you plan the kitchen remodel think about using kitchen drawers for the bottom as opposed to cabinets. Drawers are easier to get into unless the cabinet innards have pull out shelving. Carol is getting up there in age and you need to make it easy for her to access her new set up.

I agree, lack of finances, and mobility hold a lot of older people back , from doing these jobs. And not everyone is capable of doing them. I have noticed myself , that as i get older , there are things i struggle with more the older i get . It's also very depressing , frustrating and soul destroying watching your home fall to bits' before your eye's . Well done Ben and team , monster work . x

When I saw her bathroom, I could see why everyone was concerned - I am so glad the team was able to get rid of the mold and water damage. She deserves to live in a safer, healthier space. Incredible work, gentlemen!!!

Black mould basically because of the leaking roof and no mechanical ventilation in that bathroom extension (they were built that good to start with).

@@goldenineke had a pic on another webforum I follow. The chap had pruned his front yard shrubs to 2ft in Spring. They had got to 12foot by end of October. I think here with mum in hospital the dau spends all time visiting rather than getting basic (and difficult to clear away) garden trims and so on. In Leeds we had to pay for garden waste disposal - in Doncaster it was free (same in Manchester where it went with food waste every fortnight)
