Every time I see a Saab I feel nostalgic. My father owned back in the nineties a 900 (the old, true saab). Was a terrific car. Now that the brand is defunct and spares are nil the few that remain on sale in second hand markets go for peanuts. So sad it couldn't be saved...

It is nice to see a Saab with an engine other than an I-4 turbo. In the US, the 900 had a V-6 option only from 1994 to 1998. It is a shame that Saab cars are gone.
@philipheyes6079 ай бұрын
Saab cars are gone because the quality fell to dire even with a full dealer service history. I had the 900SE V6 Auto, everything broke or leaked or fell apart on it by 120,000 miles. The V6 2.5 was a good engine - but service costs were high, the induction manifold needs to be unbolted to replace the plugs in the rear bank and the timing belt was 3 years / 36,000 miles and again costly to change. Still it raised a smile to see a V6 that is runnable.

@swizzlstyx2 жыл бұрын
yes in the US, at least, the first model year for these was 1994. This one has to be pretty early based on that steering wheel, though. I heard the timing belt interval on these v6 engines was something insane like 30,000 miles. that is why you never seem them anymore lol.

Reliable as hell those GM C25XE engines. Cam belt is due every 4 years or 40k though so I’d look at changing that and the cam covers for metal ones to stop oil leaking onto the exhaust manifolds
@d-d-i Жыл бұрын
And waterpump has to be changed everytime you change cambelt on these, as the pump rarely lasts any longer than the belt. I had Omega B with this engine, so I know the drill with these. Otherwise, these were bulletproof engines with basic maintenance.
