I flew many years the DC-3 cargo and aerial applications, thousands of hours of fun, many emergencies, engine failures,control failures,inflight fire,much more but the awesome Douglas always brought me home safely, no accidents.

Thanks for the re-post. The take-off and slow altitude gain while picking up air velocity is remarkable. Plus the engines going into harmonics soon show that the mechanics know their trade very well. These fabulous birds are a pleasure to experience and just watch.

Con las hélices hidromaticas de paso variable , impulsando al DC-3/ C-47 pasando con todo entre las nubes. Las Halminton Standar reciben los 1.200 HP de los R-1830 ✈️

Thanks so much for this video of one of the most fantastic machines ever built. Their continued usage proves that their engineering was so far ahead of their build date that they still amaze the world in the 2020s. We can never give the just amount of praise to Columbia’s pilots, crews, & maintenance staff. Great job to all of you wonderful people. May God continue to bless you. Thanks again.

This video was filmed in my hometown Villavicencio Vanguardia airport I lived really near from there in fact I know the captain. This is amazing not all are capable to fly this machines to the jungle. Thanks for sharing.

El cestante en la bóveda del techo . Buscando la orientación en la noche con las estrellas. El radio compás marcaba el rumbo de destino. Volar en el C-47 era estar en el cielo . ⚒️✈️

Me lembro muito bem na época, quando era jovem,os motores radiais principalmente dos DC3 C47 CURTIS COMMANDER,na ora da partida tinha que injetar combustível, se injetáveis combustível demais o excedente pegava fogo,sempre tinha um bombeiro por perto .

"The COM panels have been updated" - glad for all the modernization that is practical for this wonderful bird. At the AA Museum, Irving, TX, there is the original model but sadly one cannot sit in the seat for obvious reasons (childhood memories from the late 50s when we routinely be given the chance at a small airfield). For the rest of us there is FlightSim. Thanks for the video.

The one at the AA Musem does allow you to enter it, sit down in the cabin, though. Anyone in the DFW area really should go at visit that museum.

Really this aircraft is so nice aircraft. DC-3 , Douglas Company built 11000 DC-3, flying is about 450 aircraft.

Estos DC3, lo mejor que ha habido en mucho tiempo de la aviación mundial, se pueden transformar a BASLER BT 67 con motores turboelice de 5 palas y se someten a una restauracion total de carroceria, alargandola para cambiar el centro de gravedad y nivelar los pesos. Igualmente, se le hace una instalacion electrica y electrónica de hoy, cambiando la aviónica y sus controles o manometros, para tener tecnología de punta en estos aparatos que por su diseño siguen operando hasta finales de este siglo XXI. En EE UU hay una compañía que efectúa esta transformacion y ello vuelven a volar con toda la seguridad requerida hoy.

Great airplanes, great flying! That wet muddy runway must slow the takeoff-run down like crazy. And no security belts for the passengers. Those were the days... Hope all involved are still doing well! Whats the actual status of those 2 DAks, are they still flying?

HK3037 is stored in a bad condition, without engines at Bogota or Villavicencio as far as I know.
