I'm 5'9" (175 cm), 150 pounds (68 kg), with a 39" chest and started with the small. Perfect, tailored fit over a t-shirt or similar, but gets tight with anything thicker. I eventually bought a medium to layer over a hoodie and it works, but yeah, loads of room even then. Flat on a table and buttoned the armpit to armpit on the small is 20". The medium is 22". I found a waxed rancher in small on eBay and it is cut a tad bigger to accommodate a layer (and it is a warmer coat) without the extra space.

Another helpful video Cameron, thank you. However, what would be more helpful is letting us know your chest size too. For me, height and weight is ok to know, but more importantly is your chest and possibly shoulder width. Loved the video also trying on the different outfits. Thanks again!

The large is very valuable in cold weather for layering. The large does not look too baggy on you, especially when worn over a hoodie or a bulky sweather. In my opinion, the medium looks too tight unless you only intend to wear a single tee shirt underneath. A 6 foot tall person does not need to have a beer belly to require a large. If you have broad shoulders and a muscular chest, the medium is too small. Although this being said, Flint and Tinder waxed trucker sizing can be very frustrating to figure out. Your video is very helpful in this regard.

I've tried the Rogue Territory Supply jacket but I just can't get the sizing quite right - it's definitely cut for a specific body type. Looking forward to the video on the sweater!

Could be a good option for climates that are too warm for wool (Brisbane and most of Oz). Love the content as always Cam. Hope you make it to 10k before the end of the year 🤞🏼

I want down this same journey with this jacket. I’m 5’ 11’ 190lbs and a 44” chest ( this is important on the size chart on F&T) I originally got a Large based on the web sights size chart and it was just too loose in the body and especially in the sleeves. I exchanged for a Medium, and it fits just like your medium. Perfect. I can still layer a sweater underneath and button up the coat with it only feeling slightly snug but not uncomfortable. I would agree and go true to size on this bad boy. I’ve had it for a couple of months now, and am so happy I picked it up. Cheers mate!

5'6" 135lb 36" chest. This puts me at the border of a XS and a S according to their measurement chart on the site. I ordered a XS and it fits perfectly and I used the same thought process as Cameron. It's never hot enough in Australia to layer so a more tailored XS is perfect for me. Although I can fit a thick hoodie underneath and button up somewhat snuggly if I choose to. I normally wear a XS anyway so at least in my case, the jacket is true to size. My #1 tip for sizing is to first measure your chest and then compare yourself to the models in the "Fit My Fit" section on the site's jacket page. Just by comparing your build (height/weight) and chest (the product of your combo of height/weight), you can semi-confidently guess your size based on the pictures. And of course the "MEASUREMENT CHART" section with all the detailed chest measurements of each size is absolutely handy.

Please make more on outdoor/ work clothing. Boots, vests, pants ect I live in MN. The first thing im going to ask is, how does it hold up against water. I've been learning (like most) about material differences. Let us know what advantage they have. I personally want like a shirt jacket? Duck canvas maybe?, comfortable linening/cuffs. That iron heart was prety cool. Man i really liked it. Like darker colors.

I’m 6’ and 189 lbs. I recently got one of the these on Large since that’s what I wear usually for tops. I have a 44-45” chest size and the large was too snug with just a t-shirt and I felt it more while driving. I had to exchanged it for XL but now the sleeves are a bit longer but the chest fits nice and I have a room for layering. I think the right sizing is based on the chest size…

I have the medium in forest colour, and it's probably my favourite jacket ever. The only downside is that even in cold-ish weather, I can't walk long distances without sweating up a storm. The lining and the wax application really doesn't allow it to breath all that well. But it looks rugged as hell :)

@MarcS4R yes, I would go with a large in your case. I'm on the limit to XL, but seeing that you are lighter than me I think an L is perfect. Unless you are jacked, then it might get tight over the shoulders. There It's pretty long in the torso, so I don't think the added height is a problem.

Can I ask, does it "stretch a little" in the shoulders/back over time? I bought myself an XS and with a T shirt on, it looks great, but when I lift my arms horizontal in front of me, for the hug test I can feel a slightly uncomfortable tightness in my back/chest. I can still hug, but theres a bit of resistance in the armholes/across the back. I'm wondering if that will loosen up a bit over time, or if I should go a size up for the small. I go size 36-37 garments with 30inch waist, but am short (5'3). Im in Australia so unlikely to wear anything other than a T shirt.

5'9", usually waver between 170 - 175 lbs., around 40 - 42" chest. Most often go for medium in shirts. When I first bought a medium, I was at my heaviest, and wasn't happy with how tight the jacket fit. I bought a large, but a year later and skinnier, and I'm unhappy with how long it feels in the length of the sleeves and body. I'm probably going to get it tailored, hopefully I can find someone skilled who can crop the length for me.

I had an XL that I wore all the time and it fit great except I couldn’t button it up (I’m a bigger guy). It was perfect in the sleeves and it sat just slightly below the waist which is fine. It sadly got ruined so I threw it out and got the same one in 2XL and it closes perfectly in the front but the sleeves are too long now. I’ve had it for about a year and even rewaxed it and worn it every day for months when I could and I feel like the sleeves never really bunched up all that much. Either way though the 2XL would be absolutely perfect for me if the sleeves were shorter and the torso length was shorter. Great jacket

Looks like most of these style jackets don't work too well for us shorter stocky guys. 5'7" 180 currently with 43" chest and fairly broad shoulders. The shoulders are where I typically have my issues. I'd probably try a large due to this but the overall length and sleeve length would likely be less than desirable. Probably need to explore which brand is most generous in the shoulders.

Sizing remains one of the biggest potential nightmares for mail-order, especially, as you say, when importing from outside of UK. I just made a major mistake buying Wonder Looper direct from Japan for a L zip-up, which is so oversized that I cannot wear it (I'm 6ft & 200lbs) Its VERY American sizing, but the expense of import fees and now having to return it for an exchange means this is going to cost about £400 or more, just for a hoodie. I thought I had the measurements about right and something was telling me from decades of experience of alternating between L & XL that I was safe with Large as I have never been a medium in my life; wrong. It's a great hoodie, but it was only because the stockists in the UK didn't have Indigo colour way that I ordered this one directly. Even quite recently I ordered XL t-shirts from Huckberry (their great Proof label), plus the expensive t-shirts from Unbound Merino from Canada. The Huckberry shirts are a great fit, but the Unbound Merino ones are like a tent and unwearable for me. The taxes were a killer, so it was a £270 mistake and just a write off.. So, as per this helpful video Cameron, a real focus on sizing really helps, even though many of us are of inbetweener builds and it will mostly never be perfect. Cheers.
@CameronO
@CameronO Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear mate. The import fees are crazy to the UK these days. I think with these oversized items you could look at selling them on Markkt or something like Reddit /rawdenim. Or even the Iron Heart Forums, they have a for sale section for other items. Also, this is a bit of a faff, but there are certain ways to send items back without the return import fees. I've done it before, there is a form and it basically says you're returning a faulty/defect item for repair etc.. Then when they send it back it comes through without fees. - Something like this: www.gov.uk/guidance/pay-less-import-duty-and-vat-when-re-importing-goods-to-the-uk-and-eu#claim-relief I've done it before with a watch, not sure it works with clothes

Be careful with the assumption that all American made garments are oversized. My greatest example is Brave Star Selvedge. They make amazing products but I'm a wide body at 5'6" 185 pounds and a 49" chest, the Brave Star sherpa lined #3 denim jacket in a 2xl only fits over a t-shirt and only while standing at attention. I bought a 3xl in the tan denim. with black sherpa the following year and I can ride the bike with this one but the waist is so open that it offers little protection so it will need to be tailored.
