Note on : 14:25 Try this : In the "scene" settings, go to the "units" tab, see if you downscale the "unit scale" (From 1.0 to 0.0625 for example) it may solve the small sphere problem without you having to up the amount of iterations for the rigid body solver. (Which costs more in performance). Your issue i believe (Or blender's issue, is having floating points round-off errors when it comes to small numbers) there is a marginal error there in regard to precision with small numbers calculation.

So is it not possible to ever have a dual fluid system with support for buoyant collision objects?
@ryanguy4536
@ryanguy4536 5 жыл бұрын
Not with the way the Blender simulation systems are currently designed. Fluid and rigid body simulation systems in Blender are separate and cannot interact with each other.

Seems difficult to get something to either pop out of the water or a boat to Bob up and down without water running off of it. Thats what makes it natural looking. Everything basically seems water repellent
@Blenderphysics-Videos

I think it will take some more time for more beautiful results. For a tutorial, to show possibilities, the results are still okay.

@@Blenderphysics-Videos yes, thats actually kinda sad...Blender keeps updating and adding on features but, some things are just stuck in the stone age. In order to get the better looking water simulations I think we could need to use collections and do some trick layering to get better looking results.

Is it possible to have a source of bubbles coming up from below? Like if someone was exhaling a bunch of bubbles, or an air tank being ruptured? And if yes, can those bubbles interact with those on the surface in a realistic manner, moving water with them?
@Blenderphysics-Videos
@Blenderphysics-Videos 5 жыл бұрын
What you could try is to use a particle system, convert the particles into keyframed objects and use them as invisible obstacles.

Hey, im trying to make a scene with an iceberg. i make a small part of it separate from the big iceberg and slpashed into the water. im trying to follow the step 3 of the video but im doing invert cause i want the parts dive from above. however something is not working.. how can i make the parts just dive and interact with the fluid as the nature?. any advice?

My Rigid bodies work as they are supposed to, when I make the fluid a rigid body nothing happens, fluid flows through the objects, does not move them? Any idea why? Does it have to do something with the starting from beginning frame?

I spent all of today trying out mantaflow in blender 2.82 and as of 28th jan 2020 it is still very buggy I lost many simulations when trying to change parameters and had lots of crashes. Then I downloaded the flip fluids demo and did the things I was trying in like 30 minutes (successfully with no crashes). If it scales nicely when my new threadripper parts arrive I will be buying a flip fluids licence.

The current version of the FLIP Fluids addon (v1.0.7) is supported in Blender 2.79, 2.80, and 2.81. We recommend using the latest Blender 2.81 release due to a Blender 2.80 bug that could cause frequent render crashes. Isn't there a way to have the splash go past the domain? like if I wanted to make a character create a big splash and have the water go on the ground or something.
@Blenderphysics-Videos
@Blenderphysics-Videos 3 жыл бұрын
No, the sim is always limited to a domain ;)
@spudster0566
@spudster0566 2 жыл бұрын
One thing I'm thinking of that could possibly work is to have two separate simulations, disable the splash particles in a smaller simulation, and then making a bigger simulation which has the water particles disabled and simulates the splashes with a bigger radius. 🤷‍♂

I struggled so much on the second method. When I increase the number of "Substeps Per Frame" setting in Rigid Body World, the ball starts to move ultra fast when hit by the fluid. And I hope it can be partially infiltrated. But I guess that's the limit of blender and ff wasn't designed for this.

I do have more special questions related to the pay for blender artists. I want to know how do you blender artists price ur work? so far I know u guys have different fields, like modelling, shading, tracking, particle and fluid FX stuff, can I just hire one blender artist to do all the work or I have to hire different people to split the pay as well? is there a job position to calculate the price for a scene's VFX and hire different people to finish it so that we do'nt have to bother to deal with it? thanks for ur answer.
