Looks good, Flo but rendang must have the 'kirisik' which is pounded toasted coconut. The unique flavor of rendang comes from this added ingredient. Try adding 'kirisik kelapa' next time you cook another rendang dish. Love all your videos and looking forward to the next one.

We had a tradition that: when you graduated, you chose your celebration dinner venue, short of a Mich star (with obvious reason). My choice was Rasa Sayang in the Leicester Square [London] district. This was long ago, but their beef rendang was sheer magic.

Hi Flo and Dude. Rendang is one of my absolute favourite meals. Delicious. I used to make the paste myself with all the different ingredients but now buy the ready made paste's from my local wholesalers. The quality of these foil packed pastes really are very good indeed, so tasty. The only extra i add are some red chillies as i do like it hot hot. Cheers guys.

Hi Flo, Dude and fam, I've been missing ur beautiful city. Those field trips to Costco or the restaurants you frequent were fun to watch. Even Glamping trips were fun. Guess going out in a pandemic was not recommended. The recipes are great tho.

Just 2 suggestions from my end. 1. Grate some ginger together with shallots and garlic. 2. Try adding buah keras/candlenut to thicken the gravy - this adds a nutiness to it

Just subscribed, have you ever made Bong Sell (that's what it sounds like spelling is off for sure) my better half is vietnamese and that is so good, she wraps hers in lettuce and uses a garlic type liquid as a dip and I use a sweet chili sauce as a dip, she loads them up with bean sprouts, shrimp pork with skin on onions etc .

When you skin th oil off try using a metal ladle with ice cubes in it and then slowly swirl it on top layer of pan it will fat will thicken on the bottom of ladle. Works really well for de-fating soups and stocks!!!@!

Yes, please check out the Beef Rendang recipe linked at the end of the video. Chicken will only need 8 mins HP after browning and you will need to reduce the sauce afterwards.

I’ve never had curried chicken wings but that would be yummy! You probably don’t have to cook them as long but I would still reduce the sauce.

They will often eat anything spicy with a glass of milk. They like a little spice but not too much. Kinda like the both is us. 😉
