I strongly endorse your advice to skip a scarf for beginners. I started knitting with a full scale sweater, because that is what I wanted to wear, very motivating. Unfortunately in Covid times I was on my own and picked the wrong yarn (superwash worsted, variegated) and the wrong pattern. Fortunately, everything I learned I am using still -cables, seaming, seed stitch, alternating skeins, even tubular bind off. The bind off was the only one that nearly stopped me. Only months later did I notice that the pattern (selected because it was free) was rated advanced. It just goes to show that motivation and patience can overcome myriad obstacles and produce something nice.

Florence, Your self drafted cardigan is beautiful! You’d look great in a soft pink version, as well 😉. I’m glad you’ve continued making these videos. You explain the projects well and bring up good points/ tips. Thank you for sharing. 🧶☺️

Your audio has been perfect in all your episodes. It's clear and volume is good, I actually lower the volume on my laptop 😅 You should definitely talk about your patterns. You've put so much work in it and is your podcast. You need to be your own advocate.

Fully agree on the zipper man sweater and the collar specially. I kitted two versions (junior and man) and I found that the folded collar keeps the shape much better if you sow it together. In the first version I did with magic cast on I ended up having to put elastic in. For the rest I agree is an easy and super well explained pattern

The Marit mitten take my breath away! I may have to add those to my queue too. Thank you for walking us through everything. It's always a pleasure to knit along with your podcast.

I'm currently knitting a cream cabled cardigan in a yarn I found earlier this year. Its a Yorkshire yarn from a no kill flock of Border Leicester sheep. It is an expensive yarn but its knitting up the cables beautifully. I love hearing about more ethical yarns.

If you ever feel like trying out some more nice and environmentally-friendly yarns that are produced locally in the UK, I wholeheartedly recommend John Arbon Textiles. They're a small independent mill based in Devon. Their yarn bases are fantastic and the colour range is spectacular. Not the cheapest, but I think they're absolutely worth the price considering the quality and the fact that it's a pretty small-scale operation. I've knit several things with their yarn and they've all held up well. (Disclaimer: Not sponsored. I just really like them.)

That Celeste sweater is beautiful. I am so bad at colourwork but keep making attempts (most unsuccessful to my liking) . Celeste looks like the one I could give it a go...

Given that you look exactly like Anya Taylor Joy and have her colouring, if you ever want a change from blonde… you would look stunning as a red head like she is in The Queen’s Gambit

I actually had red hair at the time The Queen’s Gambit was released! I got a lot of messages saying I looked like her around then. Maybe I’ll go back to it sometime :)
