While incarcerated in the Florida Department of Corrections, I was set up by staff to be beaten for filing grievances. I resonate with what Cheryl went through and my heart goes out to her. This story is all too common and the Inspector General's Office does little to hold correctional officers and their supervisors responsible for violence aimed at offenders in their care.

These guards are rapist and just foul human beings.. people dont know how foul it truly is in prison..i had a relative locked up at Lowell they told me a similar story of a female inmate that was raped and they filed paperwork against the guard and they threw her in the hole and made it as miserable as possible for her until she said she lied and made it all up..that is so screwed up me and my family member had keywords that if anything like that happened to them i would instantly know which ones and i would have dealt with them on the outside..this is how you would solve that problem but the guards dont fear consequences from wrongdoing in the prison and they actually screw the inmates up even worse mentally than they were before they got there and they think the inmate will function better in society after doing things like this to them..that is how sick and twisted their heads are they are the worst of the worst i feel bad for any inmate dealing with these conditions and people dont care until it affects them or their loved ones it's like people think they are not people anymore when they get locked up animals get better treatment than people do that are locked up that is sad and needs to change..

My mom was a nurse at Lowell for many years. She couldn't stand the corrections officers. They were ALL dirty. She left to go to end of life care at Hospice. It wasn't much better. There is no longer "bedside manner". The health care workers have become callous and uncaring. It's a real shame.
@debbiemartin2026 Жыл бұрын
Yes…Hospice is all about money. I went through it all with my mom when she was terminal. It was all about the head nurse coordinator and billing. And about making money on meds. Not the care of the patient. I told her off bc they pulled out on my mother at the most critical time for 24 hours (no nurse care) bc they needed the 24 hours to change the diagnosis so they can still keep billing. They came back with a box of meds they probably charged thousands for through her Medicare. She never use dit.threw them all out. Lol probably worth tons on the street. Methadone, Oxy, etc.

She was just released from confinement again (30 days) after they supposedly found contraband in her locker. this is entirely society's fault. not just for putting two unworthy male jail guards in a women's prison, but not having proper incarceration for inmates - you want to avoid these circumstances, by designing the system around the concept, that a human, is still a human, unless he/she is a psychopath - and needs to be put into a box - or terminated.

I once worked at levy forestry camp and years later became an inmate. I’ve been out four years and everyone at fwrc knew about this. One of the assholes involved was still working there. Our understanding was that he was only cleared to work the central tower but that was definitely not the case! The female ex-officer really couldn’t have said it any better and I hope like hell she continues to voice the truth! Care, custody, control is a fucking joke to most of the so called officers in the prison system and the ones that really do care don’t last very long. I watched a documentary about the prison system in Norway and if Florida could just open their eyes and look around there are other much better ways of running things!! Their way does not work at all!! Thank you for being brave enough to share this story and show the world what’s really going on here!! These inmates are all someone’s someone and anyone capable of this kind of immorality is no better than if not worse than those they’re impacting!
