The Judge in NC basically gave ACC a do over as well when he allowed them to get approval from schools to file a lawsuit, that had not been done prior to their rush to the courthouse before FSU filed in Florida

Quick thoughts! ESPN is big winner as the Court, despite entertaining arguments for nearly 4.5 hours, never reached the issue of disclosing the ACC-ESPN deal. I also found it interesting that the court sided with the ACC on that FSU did not sufficiently demonstrated in its complaint that the ACC falls under Florida jurisdiction. However the Court is permitting FSU to amend its filing. Talk about home field advantage in Leon County!

Mark, as always I enjoy your shows. Thank you to your guest for taking the time to update us on the latest ACC court case. I have to disagree with your guest about the state of the college football transfer system. What I find disturbing is what I view as control. Your guest says coaches should not be compared to players regarding freedom of movement. I disagree. In the NFL both players and coaches are restricted under contract. The college coach uses his leverage such that every contract has an out clause to go to another school before the end of the contract which does not exist in the NFL. What the market place is showing us is that college football is really about the players and not the coaches although the coaches have enjoyed the leverage in their favor with freedom of movement and high salaries. Your guest's argument that coaches have been in their profession a long time and likely started out working for peanuts has absolutely no relevance regarding student athlete movement and their ability to make money. The issue is really that the people in power don't like the freedoms the players have. It's upset their apple cart. They are not worried about the other 99% of the student population that make good/bad decisions about money and where they should go to school. I take a much broader view of college football and college sports in general. What if athletes decided not to play football. I mean,a mass movement of kids not playing at an early age. People can't force kids to play and say we need laws to make them play so I can watch the football I love. The fact is that college football has operated illegally for a long time and people accepted it as status quo. Unless the players decide to collectively bargain, we're all are just going to have to adapt to the new order of college football with free agency moves each semester..
