It was good to see you again. Buster is a beautiful cat. I'm a cat person, too. Your cross stitch is so lovely. You inspired me with the peacock, unicorn, and a badger , piece, I had to order that pattern. I loved it. Enjoy stitching, and I can't wait to see you again.

So good to see you again. You have been missed. I hope you had some me time. Lovely projects as always. Buster looks amazing and I love the plant that throws out the vines, so cool. Thank you for sharing, Emily.

Thank you so much for a great video! I used to work with two ladies who are Master Gardeners and you want to throw bananas and USED coffee grounds- not unused coffee grounds- into the holes before the trees go in. Our Starbucks gives the used coffee grounds away for free. Also let Jim know that you will not have just one of each tree forever as you will get a lot of volunteers sprouting up. Good luck on your tree adventure! 🙂

Glad you're back. Good luck with your trees. Sounds like you picked some good ones. After your last video, which inspired me to get some house plants, I got 3. They are doing so well. I had to transplant one to a bigger pot already.

Even as I’m laughing out loud I am feeling your “too much” pain! I used to have that cartoon affixed to my office door as it represented my work life perfectly. And even though I loved my job (how many of us have the opportunity to have our passion be our career?), I was totally ready to retire when that time came. Hang in there and know that you’re doing good work. ❤

Hi, Emily. I am so happy to see Buster looking well and happy again, and so glad to hear he’s feeling good, as well. Sweet beautiful boy! 🐾 I’m also hoping things smooth out for you soon, and you can enjoy some stitching and relaxing time. ☺️ I love the selection of trees you bought…that sounds awesome! Please keep us posted on the progress! ♥️ Thanks for taking the time to post a video. Meline

My best advice on planting trees is don't plant them too deep. They need a splay, which anchors them into the ground against wind. If they are too deep a strong wind can snap them at the base like a twig (plus they don't grow well). Also, if you have a septic system, watch where roots might grow into it. Redbuds need room to branch out and try to keep it from growing too tall, they look fuller if kept shorter. Maybe you will show us your trees someday.

Buster is so adorable, makes you just want to hug and snuggle him!! I also love Be Stitch Me fabric and also Seraphim fabrics. I think your choices for the trees are great!! I loved seeing everything as well as your plants. Happy stitching.

Your projects look great, as usual! Variety is the spice of life and so with trees/plants. The best choices for success are trees/plants native to your area and will also support native area wildlife/insects. Though neither appear to be native to your area, both the bald cypress and river birch are beautiful trees and love water. If your bald cypress doesn't make it, let me know I will send you seeds from mine, lol! Native plants are also low to no maintenance and are perfect for those of us with brown/yellow thumbs and/or lazy like myself. Best of luck with your new "babies"!

Hi. Sorry to hear about the stress of the workplace. Even though you know it will end, still tough when going through it. I saw your Carolyn Manning piece and wanted to share that for me the shooting stars designs are highly soothing and meditative. Working the diamonds first and filling in around them later makes for a repetitive and soothing rhythm. Color changes help keep it interesting. Take care and happy stitching.

Love to see your progress on your pieces. I remember stress back before I retired - it's no fun. You always appear so calm on flosstubes, but you must hide your stress well. Take care of yourself- this too shall pass!

Hi Emily and Buster! I think buying a variety of trees is the way to go. Be careful of that gingko tree, I don't know if it's the female tree or the male tree, but one of them has a really bad smell 😵💫

Ginkgo trees are pretty but don't step on any of the pods they drop, they smell horrid. My husband always puts a moat around new trees for when you water them, and he stakes them up until you don't have to worry about the wind knocking them down.

Love your progress on your wips. Happy stitching!
@judygibbons59836 ай бұрын
I like your tree choices! The Ginko is beautiful! I have oaks, River birch, maples, both regular and Japanese, and magnolia! Go for it! I’ve never planted bare root trees, but I have planted bare root David Austin roses. You had to soak the roots for a period of time in the bathtub. I didn’t have great success, but I’m sure it was my fault. The only one that survived is the climbing cabbage rose on my garden arch! I’ve been trying to list all my patterns and Wips. I have a habit of duplicating which frankly pisses my off! I’m making a concerted effort to finish the wips that are shamefully nearly finished but languishing because of shiny new things!!
@mrsbobbinlacer6 ай бұрын
If your husband doesn't like the trees then he just needs to grow a bit. A bare root tree dig a hole deep put a hump of dirt in the center to lay the roots over fill hole with water fill in all around then stomp the dirt down hard you want no air around the roots or they die. My dad had so many different pines he didn't want to see the neighbors. Then there was apples, cherries,pears,plums ,fire bush wheeping mullberry,maple,walnut,hazelnut,mock orange, and that was just a few he planted along with a natural stand of oak on the place. It was like a park and so much to see and smell at different times of the year. Not to mention to eat and can.

I am watching you with closed caption because I am in an airport lounge and the transcript is very funny in parts !!!!! Anyway, It made my heart sing to see Buster, I was worried about him. I agree with you about stress stitching, i cannot concentrate on anything when I am stressed. Anyway, as I said, I am in an airport lounge (SFO) and am flying with my 2 cats to the UK!!!! Very stressful for everyone all round but there was no way in hell I would leave them, no way at all!!! Anyway, just wanted you to know the comfort and enjoyment you give me, thank you!!!!

I wouldn’t have ordered matching trees either. My husband, however, would have had an opinion and would have ordered matching trees. How boring! I love seeing progress on A peacock, unicorn, badger. I think there are several “flowers” that have questionable shapes.
