I think you are great at finishing! Your Santa ornaments are gorgeous. But I understand about the finishing, though, because I am not a fan, either. When I was a visiting home health nurse in the 80’s (best job) around Honesdale, PA., on the outskirts I had a patient whose husband was an expert quilter. She and her friends would take someone’s finished quilt top and baste the layers together on this huge quilt frame.Then they would hand stitch it. No long arm machines, no free motion with a sewing machine. At night, when everyone would go home, the frame was hoisted to the ceiling and the dining table put back into its place. So interesting. 1,2,3

Your casket back turned out beautifully. I'm interested to see what you do with the inside. The book you found online for Nicola's tutorials looks perfect. I picked up a spiral bound notebook that has graph paper inside so easy to chart graph diagrams. I haven't started yet. Hi Karen! Your PS Santa ornament finishes are lovely! Your daughter's tree is going to look spectacular with all of those ornaments on it. I love the stitching journal you found for making notes on stitches from Nicola's instructions. It's a great series she's doing, but a lot to take in all at once. I've decided to just enjoy watching the series first, and then go back at a later date to take notes and do samples of some kind. I get a little confused sometimes because I always start my stitches in the bottom left, and she seems to start hers in the top left. But she's really getting me thinking about what the back of the work looks like! I think I'm going to order a copy of The Proper Stitch. I've always wanted a good resource book of various stitches. That is the problem I am having going between Nicola's instructions, and the Amy Mitten instructions. It is very confusing. The Attic has The Proper Stitch for about $20. Great deal! You are entered. I have a kit from Craftsy from years ago that I have never started. I remember they were doing a quilt along and offered a low price for the kit. I know right where it is stored. I lost my quilting bug months ago and haven’t touched my machine. I’m always amazed at your progress on your three and seven day a month projects. 1, 2.
