If you are an All American / All-State sprinter in high school and got a recruitment letter from the University of Houston. Don't even look at any other schools, who's going to give you more knowledge than Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell??? It's like a dream team for track coaches, my goodness!!!!

as a college athlete, i realized it doesn't matter if a coach has all the accolades they have (they certainly help with recruiting, but that doesn't mean that they're the best coach fit for you). It just depends on where you fit in as an athlete and where you see yourself succeed, and find the right program that meets your goals and needs. Maybe that program might be Houston, but you can succeed elsewhere and you just have to find a coach and program that fits your training.

2:26 is a very impressive advice for me In 200m 100m 60m, if u want to chase the people faster than u in the race, ur body would stiff after 60m or even 30m when ur body raised. Then u will stiff and run much slower than ur training perfromance. However, it is very difficult for me to focus on only the land of mine. If some people run in front of me, it would sub-consciously look at him but lose my tempo... It's a simple but tough advice...

fu liao there was one guy i would always lose to in the 100m from my region because i would panic and leave my drive phase way to early and break form, very true advice

Joe Williams is running 6.80 as a freshman, pretty good. He’ll probably be a 100/200 guy the rest of his Houston career, but I saw him run a 47.5 in Austin and it would be cool to see a relatively underdeveloped guy like him train to be a part of an All-American 4x400 squad (maybe one day it could happen though)...

As a non-Power 5 Coogs are already kicking asses and dominating in every way! Just imagine what the Coogs could do as a Power 5! I guess that's why UT and A&M try so hard to keep the Coogs from joining the Power 5 since they know they have no chance in athletics against the Mighty Coogs!
