More chaos in the Championship of America boys 4x400m final at the 2024 Penn Relays as Bullis School (MD) falls on the second exchange and Kingston College crosses first in 3:11.86. Quincy Wilson splits 44.69 to anchor Bullis to third.

Lane 4 where the rail starts is the original inside lane or lane 1, the actual 400M meter measurement. Lanes 1 through 3 are simply the worst lanes and < 400M all-around. There is only 1 option: reconfigure the stadium to abandon current lanes 1- 3 and add 3 outer lanes. And maybe some major high schools and colleges and Olympic level athletes will return, risk of injury too high during Olympic years and this is why almost no Olympic athletes attended the 2024 Penn Relays and why many won't return.

@islyrevans295 so yuh say...... KC are no JOKE and nothing fires up a jamaican than someone right on their heels in a relay . Go look at Carifta Games 2024 Men's U17 4x400m relays where Nickecoy Bramewll on anchor had the trini runner right on his heels going into the final lap. He kept his cool and brought home the gold for Jamaica. Jamaican sprinters rarely lose their cool and make mistakes
@AndrewWalker_3
@AndrewWalker_3 Ай бұрын
@@islyrevans295 Yeah it would have been a close race for sure if they didn't fall. Maybe even a close win. But that's the point. It takes a whole team to win a 4x400. It doesn't matter how talented one guy is on the team, if the rest of the squad can't get the baton around, then it's game over. The Jamaican schools know how to do that successfully, regardless of how rough it gets at the exchange zone. Bullis needs to work on that some more.
@cash6627
@cash6627 Ай бұрын
Amen to that, that is the key to winning. The Jamaican athletes are coming from Girls and Boys championship and the Caribbean championship which is called The Carifta games so they are always peaked when they get to the Penn Relays. That is the last event of the track and field season for them. Their season starts, in February which is quite a long season for them and Penn Relays is the icing on the cake for them. @@Bbreak-26 I was there on Friday taking in the heats. The schools from JA won all of the ones that the had a team in by far (except one). Private schools like Bullis and Dematha (Annual tuition costs rivals many colleges) recruit the top athletes (I live in the area and have spoken to coaches) and have the resources that the average public school in the US (much less any school in Jamaica) lacks. When I was running, it was the public schools that dominited HS T&F, but funding for their programs have dried up. I don't intend to take anything away from Wilson, who is very special, but imagine if JA athletes (And the wider Caribbean) had the sponsorship, facilities, and funds (and tech) that their US counterparts have. Jamaica would be even more dominant in the sprints.

The second leg for bullis has to swing wide he was already passed and gave up ground he has to swing wide and his outgoing teammate has to reposition himself. That was an exchange that coulda been avoided. They trying to bunch in inside which made no sense and the finish line is in the middle of that track he was already losing ground so he has to swing outside. If only Quincy had gotten the stick closer who knows

I am an old man in US, and every year I marvel at the improvement in times. What is in the water these kids are drinking? All the hormones in McDonald's trash food or what? wow.

OK...back to that unfortunate baton exchange. The team in gold with black sleeves caused the exchange zone incident and should have been DQ's (I think they were the team that finished 2nd). Why DQ? The incoming runner from that team made a clean exchange, then fell down and rolled out of his lane and interfered with at least 3 other teams who either tripped over him our had go around him while he was on the ground (thus their line of running was "impeded" by an opposing team).

No, Team AA 2nd leg incoming runner definitely tripped Team AD 3rd leg baton receiver causing him to fall. Then Team AD 2nd leg incoming runner tripped over his own teammate afterwards.
