I think this song is about suicide, the thing that gives it away was the last lines "the honey and milk on my fingertips was never enough to make you stay." And also "I've got a black eye for every bed you've made" is referring to that she took his/her life for granted and then maybe after he/she killed it's self, she regretted ever taking his/her life for granted and maybe a little self harm was involved?
