@@hamhockbeansRandall winds up when he throws, Marino was a flick of the wrist. I'm a die hard fins fan who hasn't missed a game since 86' & I'm originally from Philly. Just ask cats like Manning who they looked up to. Marino was shattering records in an era when you could still grab recievers off the line & downfield. And Marino didn't have Wr's like Harrison & Reggie Waynem. Duper was a speedster & Clayton was a solid reciever & great route runner but neither will sniff the HOF. After them he his best wr was probably Irving Fryer at the down side of his career. Marino also never had a Marshal Faulk or Edgerin James in the backfeild. This was one of the greatest games I've ever seen. The Eagles D Vs. Miami Offence was epic. Richmond Webb and Keith Sims were rookies blocking against some of the best pass rushers in the league. Duper vs Eric Allen. Miami was missing Mark Clayton and Tony Paige, but Buddy never learned from his previous two matchups (85 Bears, 87 Eagles) that you don't win by blitzing Marino. Dan is the greatest 4th down downfield passer I've ever seen. Everyone knew that 4th down in the 1st quarter was going to be a pass.

Marino on 4th and short more often than not goes deep and I like that. It showed how much confidence he had in his arm and in his receivers to make the catch. The sad thing about Marino is that his teams came up short in winning Super Bowls. If he was on championship rosters we would be talking about him as one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. Instead he loses in arguments when compared to Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning and probably soon Patrick Mahomes.

My first NFL game. My hometown team (Eagles) verses the team I would work for 7 years later (Dolphins). I remember it being cold for south Florida and the wind was whipping in the Upper Deck seats making it feel worse and I didn't have a jacket. Great game!
