Flying A Diamond DA-40 NG From Zurich Into The Alps

We were invited by Remo from MFGZ to experience the Swiss Alps like no other. Together with instructor Martin we took off from Zurich International airport in a Diamond DA40NG. After climbing to 12500ft we saw the Eiger, Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn from the sky and landed in Gstaad/Saanen airport for a short stop. On the way back we met up with Remo in the air, who was flying the Cessna 172 to do some close formation flying before returning to Zurich. I cannot wait to do more mountain flying!

Amazing recordings of the scenery, and a very decent flight instructor. 👌🏼👍🏼 Saanen is a great airfield, not only flying-wise, but they take good care of quality customer service. Always nice to be around. Question: How did you attach the cameras outside? Using the default GoPro mounts?

Secondly- I'm actually training in a DA40NG and wanted to get some gopro shots from the wingtip like you did. Can you share how you mounted the gopro out there like that? I can't find any resources on how to do it safely and if it affects performance at all.

ICAO Phraseology?! You should not be talking on the radio, you should be communicating! Please stop using 'for', 'to', etc. - you do not need those words to communicate... The danger is in the confusion with four and two. Just the other day, there was a potential for a midair. Unclear vocabulary was used, insted of communicating with clear phraseology. The pilot used colloquial terms like 'for weather' instead of 'charlie bravo', ending up confusing atc by not clarifying their inten & initiating a heading change without approval, while in very close proximity to other aircraft traveling in opposing directions...
