Freddy in the main game is completely friendly and the first thing we see in the game is Freddy Loading into Safe mode. The only time we get Jumpscared by him is if when we mess up his upgrades (which during these points his Safety mode is Disabled. Or his battery runs out.

I love how Sun was kind but way too energetic to the point he was overbearing. Moon was harmful and mean but strangely calm and delicate. Eclipse has both their good qualities, Sun’s kindness and Moon’s calm attitude, making him the perfect being to be taking care of children in the daycare.

the idea of eclipse is cool too. Moon is the malicious adult who wants to enforce order, sun is the manchild who is scared. eclipse is just the responsible adult who enforces order but is gentle. Also shows the sun is alot more aware of his nature then the other bots, maybe this trait is actually more common then we think though. since glamrock freddy is really calm but becomes a villain and roxy isthe opposite. Monty is just... monty and chica is also unconfirmed, but it can explain some things maybe.

Idea for why the flashlight is enough to stop Moon in his tracks: It has been who knows how long since the last game, and it appears that the majority of the lights have been shut off for who know how long, which leads me to believe that moons eyes and scanners have adjusted to the darkness, so even faint light appears really bright for him.

Not to mention, Sun is fighting tooth and nail in there to regain control, even in complete darkness he manages to break through a little. When we start booting up the generators, it HURTS them. Their gears are grinding, fighting between two sets of programming. He's in AGONY from the slightest light because they were never meant to be like this for so long, and because he doesn't want to give up front, so to speak

I don't think that is how robot scanners work. The reasoning more seems to be that for showtime mode, eclipse is suppose to be in sun mode when there is light and moon mode when there is not. So the light is forcing sun to the surface, which is painful for moon

I believe that Eclipse is what the daycare attendant was intended to be, before he was tampered with by Vanny. His personality and demeanor is much more calm and collected, more like a trustworthy babysitter. Sun and Moon were meant to complement each other: brightly colored Sun to entertain kids during the day, and the quiet Moon to watch over naptime, but they werent mutually exclusive. Vanny probably isolated the 2 different components of Eclipse's personality to use the animatronic for (capturing kids? Killing kids? What was Vanny doing again?). So Sun became neurotic and hyperactive, fully devoting all his attention to the kids (refusing to let them out of his designated spot to better control them) and Moon fulfilled his role of encouraging naptime by enforcing mandatory (or sometimes... permanent) naps. The two are also deathly afraid of letting the other personality take the reigns, which was probably also the work of Vanny so she could pick and choose which one she wants at any time without worrying about them changing the lights by themselves.

In the books it says that sun and moon used to be apart of the theater, but then they became the daycare attendants, so I believe that because they were rebooted, they combined into one entity, and they were the perfect mix which then became the perfect Balance of crazy good and very evil. While I agree that Sun and Moon were supposed to be less extreme, I highly doubt that they were always merged as Eclipse. All of the merch and promotion shows Sun and Moon. There’s nothing for Eclipse. Instead, it’s more likely that Sun and Moon were always separate entities while Eclipse was most likely an emergency protocol that’s very rarely activated.

The mechanic of taking off the mask in order to avoid the glitchy rabbit, reminds me of the Ballora story from one of the books, where a woman steals a pair of VR glasses and every time she puts them on, Ballora gets closer. Not sure what that could mean for the story so far, but I thought it was an interesting parallel.

@@jasminefaye2160 Definitely not a dumb question if you don’t know too much about fan theory’s, it was a theory at first because no one knew where Bonnie went, and he was the guitarist like Monty so that’s how it started, but it was deliberately set up to look like the guitar was just given to Monty on the ride, so people won’t ask too many questions about Bonnie being gone. If you also get all of the wet floor signs you can see dead Bonnie behind a wall in the bowling alley with claw marks on his chest, and at the end of the ride you see the same body with no head so it’s definitely confirmed, right now the secret with the floor signs I believe is bugged so you would have to hack your way behind the wall but it is there.

I thought we were all in mutual agreement that "Gregory" is just the mimic pretending to be Gregory to lure Cassidy in? In the canon ending, Gregory, Vanessa (saved), and Freddy's head are all on a hill - ie, finally escaped everything. Cassidy, for whatever reason, is still involved, and now needs to find her peace. But regardless of the specifics, wasn't it heavily implied when Helpi mimicked Cassidy's voice? Gregory and Helpi are even using 'I' pronouns in positions where only one person could be involved. Like on the catwalk - Helpi "I made sure the anomaly will never bother you again", Gregory "I jammed his signal so the rabbit won't bother you again" (or something to that extent)

I don't think they're digital at all. I think the AR both sees through illusion disks, and sees the pixaplex as the AI behind it recalls it. Which is why some objects exist only virtually, and vice versa.

So, Cassie must have spent time in the daycare while her dad was on site as a technician. But it also shows the place couldn't have been closed for too long. She seems very young still, and was old enough when the place closed to have clear memories of the daycare and her dad's tools.

guys, I think they put the daycare attendant in the objective without Cassie saying something because Cassie already knows about the attendant. She's shown in previous dialogue that she has knowledge about the PizzaPlex (knowing where RoxyRaceway is and recognizing the Daycare right after going thru the screen are the biggest examples). It's safe to say that she would be aware of the Daycare attendant. Couple that with both Chica and Monty attempting to attack her, she's smart enough to assume all the animatronics aren't friendly. Developers are allowed to make their characters a little smart lmao

This is very random, but I was just watching Markiplier's video on Ruin, and he noticed that the vending machines with the Vanny mask have Roxy on them, but the vending machines without the mask have Monty. I wondered why that would be the case, but after hearing Matpat talk about Vanny seeing the room the way she wanted it gave me a thought. We know that Roxy is Cassie's favorite character, so what if the mask is showing her Roxy instead of Monty because she likes Roxy? Almost like a Coraline-type situation, where the mask is showing her what she wants so that she would keep it on. I don't know too much about the lore since I just started getting into FNaF, but I just thought I would put that out there.

It kinda reminds me of how Sherlock fans really thought Gatiss and Moffatt (the writers) wanted to make a puzzle that was both technically solvable and narratively satisfying for the audience, before it dawned on us that they were never going to actually pick up those dropped threads. it's crazy how sun was so ready to give up being his own person and merge with moon to create eclipse, i also think that eclipse was what the company wanted from the very beginning when they tried to reprogram him to become the new daycare attendant, sun is too energetic and scared the more introverted kids, and moon was too aggressive when it came to putting kids to sleep and just overall too creepy, eclipse is the perfect balance of the two

If it's about what I think it's about, then getting this without cheating/going through a wall is potentially impossible. You have to deactivate all the wet floor signs across the entire dlc, then go back to the chapter that you go to Bonnie bowl. The only issue is that so far no one has found that last one to unlock it, so it's either very well hidden or steel wool decided last minute not to not let that area be normally accessible

When you deactivate all of them, the wall at the very right, above the Bowling ally in Bonnie Bowl, there's an opening that takes you to a room. What's inside it I won't say, but it will say this, it'll confirm one of Matpats theories to be true.

AI doesn't think outside the box, it attempts to find patterns in the input data and those patterns are (usually) not the same ones as ours (this is called the alignment problem). Something I like about the game is that the AR world and normal world for each area are actually completely separate places in the map (if anybody has seen videos hacking the game) so your character is teleporting to different spaces constantly and since Ruin is more polished than the main game it won’t crash no matter how many times you switch from mask world to real world, they really improved on their mistakes with this one and it shows

I know it's been a couple weeks so you may have seen by now (or may have already been aware when you wrote this), but it is possible to glitch the AR transition and fall out of the map. I don't think it crashes the game or threatens the playability in a significant way, so I wouldn't say it negates what you said about the game being more polished, but I find it amusing that this admittedly cool mechanic still has the Steel Wool signature.

I think the drawings in the daycares play place are a fun detail, since they weren’t there when Gregory was going through the tunnels, that means after the earthquake, when sun and moon were fighting to control, Sun was drawing random people and placing them throughout the tunnels and drawing arrows to help whoever comes so they could fix their problem, and Moon was drawing a bunch of ‘no light’ posters

I also think the AR is showing you what you want to see, I noticed that when wearing the mask you see Roxy on the vending machines but in the real world the vending machines show Monty, and Cassie said her favorite character is Roxy. And when there’s something blocking your way in the real world most of the time you go into AR and can go through whatever object you need to. And AR fixed/cleaned up the daycares secret room to make it look nice, maybe that’s something Cassie wanted to see. And the robot coming through the screen? Cassie knew she needed to find a way down to the Monty golf-place so the AR created the giant endoskeleton to bring her there. And in Month golf when you tried to go into the cart-thing for the ride? It didn’t exist in AR world, maybe because Cassie is scared to go on the ride? When you needed to cross the broken part of Monty’s catwalks? AR gave you A MAGIC TELEPORTER. Also, in the Brazil ending it shows you a place where you and Gregory get to hang out until the Mimic catches her… Idk I just feel like it’s showing you what you want to see to lure you into using it as much as possible and becoming reliant on it, like in Somniphobia where you enter a reality where everything is wrong until you give in and accept your new life in the AR world where everything is fine. Basically, AR is doing it’s purpose, Augmenting Realith for what you, Cassie, wants to see. Obviously there are some holes in this theory, like the random eyes, the genie bunny Afton AI person thing, etc, but I, for now, think it makes sense.

Matpat, there is something you should know. There are secret doors you have to find by zooming out the cameras to get an ending. You have to start looking early on. The concept is similar to FNAF 3 with the 'free the children's spirits' chair. Also: deactivate all the 'pat-pats' or caution/wet floor bots to open the curtains in bonnie bowling.

Every time he needs an item or to solve a new puzzle, he just stares at it for five minutes and suggests that maybe the game is broken before finally doing the very obvious thing the game is asking him to do. The bigger difference is Mark likes to antagonize the rabbit and the robots for the content while Mat just avoids them so he can continue overanalyzing his surroundings.

I have noticed that much of the stuff we see in AR is based on Cassie's perception. When we see Monty's sour drink vending machines and put on the mask, it becomes Roxy's grape flavor - Roxy is Cassie's favorite animatronic - and when we enter the hideout - which I suspect to have belonged to Gregory as a temporary living space given the child size, plus clothes, drawings and games - in the daycare, it all looks fixed up - presumably how it would have looked like if Gregory had ever taken Cassie in there for a visit. There are a couple more examples later game, but I won't mention those here, since we haven't gotten to that point yet. Speaking of the perception with the AR mask. My initial thoughts as to why we were able to go through certain objects, was that the mask is supposed to be worn by maintenance staff. This would explain why shortcuts would be accessible to people wearing the masks, that regular mall-goers wouldn't be able to see because it would make for a more seamless experience if maintenance needed doing during the day. Also, all animatronics are viewed in a kind of X-ray vision when wearing the mask, unless they are specifically a maintenance task - like when we had to repair Sun & Moon - which feels like a way of telling the engineer which animatronics to ignore, and which ones they are currently tasked to repair. Just some thoughts I have had while watching different people play^^

I have a feeling that this whole thing is a simulation after Cassie put on the mask and had the occipital transponders injected into her. I know this is weird to say, but even jn a horror game like FNAF, it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to walk through solid objects, even with AR goggles on. If there were actual secret shortcuts through objects, then: 1) Cassie would have acknowledged that, and even so she would have had to move or squeeze through certain crevices. 2) That wouldn't explain how she's able to walk through parts of fallen debris and obstacles, which wouldn't have shortcuts built into them in the first place.

Noticed something about Helpie after watching Mark's first video. OCCASIONALLY when Helpie speaks, his eyes will turn yellow and he'll have some veins on his face. This is likely the Mimic speaking through Helpie instead of Gregory. The most apparent moment of this is the first time Cassie hears her voice through the speakers and Helpie tells you that he made it using samples of her voice. When Helpie says it, his eyes are yellow and he has the veins on his face.

Theory: The reason Freddy could not see Vanny was because she was "Glitched" only visible possibly by the VANNI mask, or technology similar to that. That's why Freddy can see her when he gets Roxy's advanced eyes. This also gives further proof for Gregory being a robot. Capable of seeing Vanny right away (Him being an even more modern robot in comparison to the animatronics)

The fact the Endos act like you aren't there when you have the mask on suggest they can't see you (notoce they move freely as if you aren't looking at them). Additionally, when comparing Matt's and Markiplier's play it also seemed to be true of Monty. Monty moves toward the Glitchbunny but doesn't seem to react to the player... except when the mask is off... he has a slight animation change when he locks onto you. It seem animatronics can only find you with Glitchbunny's help when the mask is on. Seems like this is the same effect that Vanny had while wearing the mask.

NO ONE sees and knows everything about where a game is going, what easter eggs and small details are in every scene, when they've never played it before. So the mask might be the difference between Vanni and Vanessa. Glitch Trap is put in Vanni’s head through the microchip from the mask, which is why he doesn’t have complete control, only able to be a voice like Helpy, and when she puts on the mask she becomes Vanni

I have a theory that the sounds you hear with the mask on are echos of what has happened there previously - which is why you hear everything from kids crying to laughing, playing, and sometimes even voice lines from the first game. People will probably need to look into the files to confirm. Edit: I also noticed that, at least in the background, the mask shows some things how they used to look, like the neon stars being lit in the daycare, even though they are off when you take the mask off.

I think the symbols in the security bypasses are tied to the main animatronics. Lightning = Fredbear Cupcake = Chica Star = Monty (from his glasses) Don't think there was one for roxi, which makes the uniqueness of roxi more interesting

My theory about the daycare attendant is that he does have two modes - 'Sun', for party time, and 'Moon' for tucking kids in for naps - but that he is just one animatronic with one personality, just different functions. I feel like Eclipse is /so good/, in fact, that the virus that infects the animatronics caused him to split and only one of his sides became evil (instead of just one evil animatronic, if that makes sense). And then poor Sun ended up with extreme anxiety.

Something like that would give me anxiety too. lol

i think the “monty lore” part is definitely just what they want you to think; a story made for kids to better understand why bonnie isn’t on stage anymore. it seems very unlikely that an animatronic, artificially intelligent or not, would give up the job they were created to perform to another animatronic. although that was probably obvious to most people watching lol
