Hi Pan. Great video as usual. In the UK the MMJC Cannon Pro V2 can be bought from in2detailing (I have no affiliation with them) who sell it for £38 (the Amazon link you provided is £53). On the maximum mixture setting, the MJJC can go through chemicals at a higher rate than PA type lances. This means that you can achieve PIR of about 10% (rather than 7%), making it a viable alternative to a pump sprayer if you want to apply chemicals at high concentration levels (e.g. APC foam in wheel arches). Most snow foam instructions are based on the PA type lances, so if you want to stick to those PIR levels you can either turn down the mixture setting or reduce the amount of product by 25%-30%. If it had the same tactile clicking that the MTM has on the mixture dial and pitch/rake nozzle adjustment it would be almost perfect.

As a professional detailer, I’ve owned the MTM for nearly 5 years. It just recently started to fail after heavy usage 5-6 days a week during that time. The foam has become horribly runny. Thorough cleaning has not resolved the issue. I think the salt in my softened water has corroded the metal surfaces within. Extremely happy with the product! In its prime, the MTM gave me years of thick and rich foam. Would definitely buy again!!

To be fair, the way you made your passes with the Griot over lapped more and you did more passes. I still think the foam was thicker from the initial front panel spray and liked the design. I noticed on Amazon, (2) reviewers stated they had issues after a month and even rinsing and got no reply from Griot's customer svc! I personally have the Chemical Guys cannon and like it, but the downfall on Chemical guys, as of June '21 is they don't sell any spare bottles! So if you crack the thinner walled bottle, its done! I'm so glad you covered the quality of the water and watched your water softener review! I recently installed both a whole home softener (potassium chloride used) and also installed a Dionized Water (D.I.) for rinsing. I couldn't beleive how much thicker the foam was, even with a more than capable 2700psi gas pressure washer! I'm curious and will have to see how the foam comes out with the DI water. I was told CR Spotless owner (Chuck I beleive) that you can't use soft water as it will prematurely use the one resin (I think it was the (cat-ion) leaving the an-ion and that its better to use hard water. With this being said, Chuck was willing once I used up the initial resin to experiment with dual cat-ion resin cartridges but was told it would leave a fishy smell! I said, nope not gonna deal with it... One other thing not covered, but confirmed the MJJC Gen2 has the silicone tube with the weighted ball as well! Anyway, I digressed a bit but excellent video as always!

Any of these four foam cannons will do the job. I would say pick the one that is the less expensive for you to get, or the easiest in availability for you. Also, keep in mind there are many factors to get rich, thick foam. Not just the foam cannon. 1) Type of pressure washer (the more the GPM of water flow, the better, so your Riobi might not be the best solution). 2 ) The better the water quality the more foam you get (deionized water is always better compared to hard tap water). 3) The type of snow foam. 4) The dilution ratio of the snow foam (you have to adjust the dilution according to your setup and conditions), etc.

@@PanTheOrganizer Okay other reviews show the Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon came with the 1.1mm orifice already installed that’s why I asked.
@PanTheOrganizer3 жыл бұрын
That is correct and there's a very good reason the Griot's Garage comes with a 1.1mm orifice pre-installed (unlike the other foam cannons). From Griot's Garage website: "Prior to installing the Quick Coupler, ensure the cannon has the appropriate Jet installed. Your Brilliant FinishTM Foam Cannon comes factory equipped with a 1.1 Metering Jet which will deliver optimal performance for most electric pressure washers with a minimum of 1540 CU (Cleaning Units = gpm x psi). For most gas-powered pressure washers or units exceeding 4000 CU (Cleaning Units = gpm x psi), the included 1.25mm Jet must be installed." So in the case of my pressure washer, it outputs 2.1 gpm at 1400 psi. So 2.1 x 1400 = 2940 CU. So the correct orifice is the 1.1mm for most setups. I hope this helps.

Nice video Pan! But there's something i was hoping to see in your video that didn't 😔 It's probably not something a lot of people cares about since basically what everyone wants is thick foam and cheap cannon. I had the pf22.2 and loved almost everything about it except the small filling mouth and the capacity of the reservoir. It says 32oz but technically you can only do 24oz +3oz if you're mixing 8:1 I've been wanting to get the new brilliant finish cannon because it's said and proved again here , that it outperforms the foam quality of the MTM and 20.00 cheaper. Plus it has a big filling mouth and for what it looks like, it has a bigger reservoir . But, only reason why i haven't is because I've noticed in most videos when comparing to the MTM , is the product consumption rate. Not everyone cares or pays attention to that, but i personally do lol. That's one thing i love about the Pf22, that it takes forever to go thru the 27oz of products... I literally covered 2 full size sedans with 1 bottle 8:1 , where the griot's brilliant finish seems to go thru product as fast as my trinova does. To me, that tells me that whatever they did to the Pf22 , nailed it!!! Cause it mixes water/soap way better using less and giving more foam. It's foam feels lighter than others , has more volume than weight, yet it still encapsulates enough dirt for a pre-wash. I just hope one day soon they come up with a big mouth reservoir, but i know it's expensive and probably not worth investing for the company. Sorry for the long reply 😅

Found your channel in the last week or so after buying a new truck for the first time in my life. Since there’s a few months of salt/brine on the roads every year I decided I finally owned something nice enough to require an attempt at preserving the paint. I cannot thank you enough for how informative and well done your videos after watching multiple videos between your channel and 2-3 others, it was quite clear I only needed 1 channel. You’ve managed to start at zero for people like me, you don’t sound like you’re teaching basics to children lol, and you still cover everything that needs covered. BTW you nailed it on the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution. I have to admit I wasn’t believing it would do what I wanted. I only knew them for their green tub of wax that I used to use about 30 years ago. My paint was still good enough that a polish wasn’t a necessity and I knew I only had time to apply one product correctly. I decided to save everything for later except for the black ceramic spray wax. After washing drying, I applied the spray wax by hand since I haven’t gotten around to ordering the Dewalt I’m going to buy since I’m already on that battery platform. I took care to apply product sparingly, applied with a microfiber applicator and buffed off with microfiber towels. Turned my black truck into a camo truck. Most important note. You need a power washer with 2.4 GPM and higher for desired results. Anything lower will give you a watered down foam. Good luck. 👍🏼
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
I have a high end electric pressure washer (Kranzle 1122TST, costing roughly $1600 USD with upgraded Mosmatic wand and gun kit) that pumps out 2.1 GPM of water, and I set it to 1000 psi to wash cars. Never go over 2000 psi for washing cars. That being said, I had a previous Karcher K5 pressure washer that output "only" 1.4 GPM, which was under $200 USD, and it was still fine with foam cannons and snow foam. Most consumer grade big box store type pressure washers output 1.2 to 1.5 GPM of water, and they are plenty enough for good foam. That's assuming you have a good snow foam and adjusted the dilution right according to your setup, and also hopefully you don't have hard water issues where you live, as that diminishes the quality/richness/quantity of foam and suds. In general, the factors the influence the quantity and thickness/richness of foam are: 1) Type of pressure washer (higher GPM is usually better) 2) Type of foam cannon 3) Type of snow foam 4) Dilution ratio of snow foam 5) Water quality (hard water vs RO water vs DI water)

What's the difference between your pressure washer gun and wand setup and the one that comes with the Kransle pressure washer?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
The Mosmatic is on another level for build quality and quality materials, it has a swivel function, and the fact it's much more compact in size. The stock gun and wand from Kranzle are bulky and heavy. The water line connection point on the Kranzle wand is in front of the trigger, which isn't ideal in my opinion. Also, the Mosmatic equipment has quick connect type connectors, for easy switching from short gun to long gun or adding a foam cannon. Way more practical. Once you use the Mosmatic stuff, you can't go back.

I really liked my Tool Daily $15 cannon. It lasted me nearly a year with doing 4-6 vehicles a week. Currently have the slightly more expensive TriNova. I didn't even swap out for a 1.1mm orifice but it foams just as good as these in the video. I set the knob to a higher water dilution for the inital foaming so that it's more runny to allow surface dirt to slide off, then turn the knob so it's a high soap dilution so it clings during the hands on wash.

i purchased griots garage car wash soap pink one for 3 years, i do not reccomend griots. its very jelly like and will not make the right amount of foam for use in cannon, i had to use 1 entire bottle just to clean my engine, the foam dries very quickly and will not resist water spots on hot days, this is why i only reccomend the newest ceramic shampoos and will reccomend getting a cannon , i ended up using alot of griots garage to get the right foam on the first wash and then dumping it all out each time i finished one side of the car "cause i never used the pre wash cannon " before i began cleaning car. Having used griots garage car wash bottle after bottle i was even more dissapointed, it doesnt last more than 3 days clean, it picks up Dust like Mad, maybe the highway vehicles are too dirty and they transfer all the dirt to mines while on the road. so i can Not reccomend buying griots, the smell is not that great it smells like bubble gum for floor cleaning, iam sure there are many better buble gums smell out there. The only thing i liked about griots garage car wash soap is that it worked with my meguiars paste wax, so griots adds an extra layer of reflection to my car, IT WILL NOT GIVE IT DEPTH OR COLOR AND EVEN IF IT DOES its very superficial and will only last about 14 hours, oh and when it rains The rain will strip away all magick of griots garage. so save money get a foam cannon, pre wash it and start using ceramic wax and ceramic everything. Good luck!

I wouldn't trade my MTM for anything, like you said the main issue is the small opening on the bottle, but what I do to remedy this is I use a measuring cup and premix my soap with water. I get a more acurate mix that way because I also find the numbers difficult to read on the bottle itself.

Pan. Always love your content. I planned on purchasing the Karcger 1700 but its 1.2 gpm. Are foam canons 'not so great' at that 1.2?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
It will be ok, but not amazing. There are many factors that influence the quantity, thickness and richness of snow foam: 1. Type of foam cannon (smaller orifices lead to thicker foam, but can potentially trip your circuit breaker depending on your setup) 2. Type of pressure washer (a higher amount of GPM water output leads to more foam, so a pressure washer with 1.3 GPM will produce less foam than one that pumps out 2.1 GPM) 3. Type of snow foam (not all snow foams produce the same amount of foam) 4. Dilution ratio of snow foam (adjust the dilution according to your setup. Start with the recommendations on the label, and increase the amount as needed). 5. Water quality. The better the water, the more foam and suds you get. So deionized water will always produce more foam compared to hard tap water, for example.

Do you have a video where you test these foam caonons but using a cheap Pressure washer? Maybe a Sun joe?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
No unfortunately. If your pressure washer delivers 1.2 gpm of water output or higher (the higher the better for more foam), and at least 1000 psi of pressure (maximum 2000 psi recommended for washing cars), you should be fine. But there are other factors affecting the quantity and richness of foam, like the water quality. Hard water issues lead to less foam, less suds. The better the water (deionized being the best) the richer and thicker the foam you will get. Also, the type of snow foam used plays a role, and what dilution factor you use. Adjust the dilution according to your setup.
