Before I knew the context of the song...the fact that it has to do with Harriet and the underground railroad...I began to cry when I heard it acapella cause I heard Jesus talking to me. This song and most of it's verses fits whats to come so perfectly...if your a child of God. The seperating line...of the wheats and tares. So many of us are tired and we look to the sky everyday for his return and his promise. This kingdom is not our own. I look forward to that eternal life with him in his kingdom that he is preparing for us. This song hit different when I heard it today. I think it's God speaking through her to his children. @@dianneraymont5971 I doubt the voters even listened to the recording. I've listened to Elton John's song, and it's still not the "Best" of the year. The voting body voted on popularity/longevity of the artist not the artistry itself. There was an article in Forbes magazine before the Oscars regarding who should win and who would actually win. The author said Cynthia should win, but Elton would because of familiarity. So, the "fix" was already in.
@benjaminjackson94494 жыл бұрын
Abbie J they a really didn’t though. Academy voters rarely watch the films they are voting for. Most of the time they just see what others award shows have done or look at popularity and familiar faces. Elton had already won an Oscar in the 90s and is ELTOK JOHN.
