I remember being frustrated with my daughter in her childhood who is now 30 with 3 kids. I was complaining about something she was doing when she was little. I heard the Lord speak to me in my spirit: "She's acting just like you." In my self-righteousness, I was shocked, but from there, whenever she was acting a certain way I remembered to look inward. When I worked through it with Holy Spirit the behavior in my daughter also changed. Now, with my 30 yo daughter and 22 yo son, I'm still trying not to make the mistakes I feel my mom made with me that pushed me away. Not feeling so confident in it. I've made HUGE mistakes! I'm so grateful for FOF and the topic of today's program. May God's Grace and Mercy continue with you. World of gratitude! Jesus'Name. Amen. Alleluia

Keep trying. They'll understand you're human and show you grace, and vice versa. Never stop pursing them. As a 30 something year old with a mom who never see cared and still doesn't try to get to know me, wish my mom felt the way you do. You're not doing it all wrong. ❤

I actually really appreciate Jim Daly's ability to keep this a conversation, instead of a presentation. He has a lot of wisdom to share--why wouldn't we want to hear his voice on this, in addition to the guest?

This is very helpful. I have an 18year old son who we are guiding on choosing the right career path. He loves the Lord, cooks and cleans, but is so secretive to his detriment.

This makes me feel better. I have failed my child but he is self sufficient as far as cleaning, cooking, laundry, money management..... but he won't work. He has worked by not now. I'm at my wits end. He'll have to leave the nest until he figures it out.

What do you consider as an adult child? My 2 kids differ a lot from each other. Do I treat them the same at, let say 18, even though they are so emotionally different. My son is 23, I'm still struggling, but I do my best to respect him (and his choices). My daughter is 17 (turning 18, Jan 2025), and I find it very difficult to "let her go." She's still at school; Grade 12 next year (in South Africa). I'm strict, but my husband allows her a lot. It's a constant battle. We're do I draw the line or step away for my own (and there's) sanity?

I watched this broadcast to share with my 40 year old daughter because she is experiencing her 18 year old daughter refusing to talk to her at all, simply because my daughter voted for Trump. This is something happening in society that I have never seen before, so I don't know what to tell my daughter. This seems to be a new tactic of the enemy, but I do not even know where to start. I have tried to talk to my grand-daughter, but she just texts me back to say she doesn't have time at the moment to take a phone call or call back. My daughter is willing to talk with her and has explained why she voted that way. Would this book help a situation like that, or do you think counseling would help?

No explanation will be helpful. Encourage her daughter in tolerance (an acceptable word in her culture). Tell her people can still have great relationships and have different opinions. She will likely need to marinate in that a while.

There’s always the possibility of disinheriting the granddaughter for her disrespect. You and your daughter should focus your attention and resources on the people who respect you.

My daughter is completely off the rails at 36. She has a 6year old daughter. She has cheated on her husband with 3 men. Divorced a fine young man. Now seeing another man. When we try to tell her it is wrong she cuts us off. Her exhusband poor man is trying really hard to keep the 3 of them together. He still loves her. But she does not care at all. I feel so sad for her husband too. She does what she wants as his family and him dances to her tune. It is a sad situation. She does not want to listen to any good advise at 36 behaving like a 17 year old

Sometimes the estranged parent has been pushed out of a child’s life because of a bitter ex spouse. They’ve had no control over how they were allowed to interact with a dearly loved and missed child.
