Great musicianship, singing & lyrics. Which by the way I have the video on this channel of them doing it LIVE from 1974. Rod Price was amazing, and not just on slide.

Been a fan since 73'. That first album hooked me for life. Saw them live several times. Each time was a blues boogie blast. Favorite show was Foghat opening for the J Geils Band in the mid 70's. The JGB was known for their outstanding live performances, and they were great this night too. Can't remember how many encores Foghat did, but there were several. The crowd wasn't happy when the lights went up after Foghat's set. Years later and it's still the best concert I've ever been to. RiP Dave and Rod, you always put on a show!

Sorry about the recording? Are u fuckin' kidding me. This is fuckin' priceless. PRICELESS!! Killer Song---Killer Performance. Thank God we weren't born in the 1800's or some shit.....Thanx for posting this rare Live version of a great song...Seen Foghat in the 'Hollywood Sportatorium' in Hollywood, Fla. in 1979, or '80. The place was made of all metal, and built like an Army Barracks. Concerts in there would bounce off the walls back and forth, and back again, and echo louder and louder.....my ears are STILL ringing. We used to call it The 'Hollywood Distort-A -Torium'. We seen every killer band of the 70's, and early 80's in there. When Van Halen played there in late '79 I guess it was.....forget about it. The place ain't there anymore. I moved out of Florida by the late 80's..but I checked on Wikipedia. It's a fuckin' Shopping Mall today...Geez...Typical of life now, in the 21st century. I'm sure. lol

Actually Kim was going a different direction, and the trio (Dave, Roger, and Tony) felt it was time to move on. Of course bringing in the great Rod Price was huge, and drove the band to greater heights. They still had the Blues flavor, but turned it up a notch or two. Lonesome Dave also was a huge fan of early Rock & Roll and Rockabilly, which also added flavor. Overall they were more diverse than Savoy Brown, including some awesome ballads like " I'll Be Standing By" (my wedding song), which included a classical string section within the song. So Foghat jammed live like no other, but could tone it down with some wonderful ballads in many of their albums. Though S.B. was terrific, IMO they grew as songwriters and musicians in Foghat, and adding one of the best lead guitarist in Rock...Mr. Price.

Well Foghat started a few years earlier than BTO. With 3 of the 4 members coming from Savoy Brown. Foghat is deeply rooted in Blues and Boogie. Lead singer Lonesome Dave was also influenced by early Rock and Rockabilly. The great lead/slide guitarist Rod Price heavily influenced by the Blues.
