Fabulous haul. Plenty of kangaroos near me. Used to often have to stop in the driveway at my kid’s school to let them go past. I should have gone to the local food bank for some frozen soups this week. I’ll go Monday. My son gave me a Coles voucher though. He works at Coles whilst taking a uni break and I can use his discount card too. Best wishes from the chilly Central Tablelands.

Hey Ashjoma😊 Thanks my friend. Yes love that we have kangaroos where we live. You really feel like you live in Australia when you have to stop and let them hop past don't you?! That's so nice of your son to help you like that. Hope you get some great soups on Monday too. Have a good weekend. Keep warm down there💕

So sorry you've been sick. Also sorry I have missed some of your videos. I injured a disk in my next and it nearly paralyed my right side. Then pain was incredible and I've been miserable. I'm back and feeling much better. I drove for the first time in 6 weeks. Couldn't turn my head at all! Still working through it, but better days are beginning to outweigh the bad days. What an awesome bargain grocery haul. Lots of useful items! I love all the produce you get!! Wow!!! Kangaroos!! I get deer...a lot, but that's so awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing, my friend! I've missed you 🥰💕😊

Hey Tammy😊💕 Thanks for your kind words my friend, that's okay, no apologies needed! I'm sorry to hear about your injury and the challenging time you've been through. That sounds incredibly painful. I'm so glad that now you're on the mend and feeling better enough to get back to driving. That must feel like a huge victory after such a difficult period. Yes, there was lots of really great items in this haul and it's especially nice to get the fruit and veggies that we do, it's a big help. Seeing wild deer in your yard would be cool too! Hope you have a good week. Sending my prayers and best wishes for a complete recovery. Take care🥰

Glad you are feeling a bit better. It’s a very rainy cool day here today, I had boiled up four chicken carcasses last evening so to day was a perfect day to make chicken vegetable soup with some little pasta noodles in it. Nothing like warm soup on a cool day, I wish I could have shared some with you, nothing like chicken soup when you are feeling poorly.

I was so delighted to see the kangaroos. In your backyard? We live in Durham County North Carolina USA….in a very rural area. We have deers who visit us daily. They love eating something that grows on our property yards. The deer enjoy eating many plants so I have to be very careful what I plant outside my fenced garden. Take Care

Thanks Susan. Glad you enjoyed seeing them. Yes the female kangaroo was in our backyard... and the male and cute joey in the paddock adjoining. That sounds like a beautiful slice of rural life you have in Durham County. It must be such a joy to have deer as regular visitors. Have a good weekend over there. 😊💕🦌

I think I might faint straight away if I looked into my yard and saw three kangaroos! They seem so exotic compared to anything I've gotten (a bobcat, many deer and once a bear). The grocery haul looked really nice with a good variety. Thanks for the video.

Wow kangaroos in your garden! I’m from Portsmouth in the UK, we came to Australia in January for 3 weeks, absolutely loved it, stayed in Sydney then got a cruise ship and went up to the Great Barrier Reef. We went to the koala sanctury in Brisbane where we saw all your indigenous animals I loved every minute of it. Shame it’s such a long way away and very expensive to get to as I would😢 love to go back.

Yes, these ones live locally in the area and often hang out in our backyard. It sounds like you had an incredible time in Australia! It's understandable that the distance and cost make it challenging to revisit, but the memories you've made will surely last a lifetime. Hopefully, you'll find a way to return someday!

Glad to hear you are on the mend, hope Mr and the kids are well. You got some great things, the sugar and peanut butter must be a big help, and we don't see you getting fresh meat very often so that is a lovely addition to your haul. We are flying home today, the place we stayed at is beautiful, very relaxing and very well kept grounds, although Mr is ready for his own bed already. I'll update you on the fruit asap, it was good but not great. As usual I get taken for a local, due to my complection, twice in the first morning of arrival I'm asked if I'm Portuguese. Have a great weekend, don't forget to put your feet up and not overdo it. X

Hope you are back to full health soon. And thrilled to see meat in your food haul. Going into fall, what was your best crop from your garden?
@makingendsmeet
@makingendsmeet 7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Kathleen😊💕 Yes it was so helpful to get some mince! Crop wise, there was several plentiful producers. In Summer it was probably the cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and loofah gourds... now it's cooler it's probably the silverbeet (swiss chard) and the endive I'm harvesting the most regularly. Having some fresh veggies to help out in the garden is wonderful.

I think she was having a time out for herself!

Hello MEM. I am sorry to hear you have not been well, but glad you are getting better. I was a bit worried about you, as I was missing your videos, and wondered if you were okay. This was a pretty good haul, and you will get some good meals from it all. I was wondering if you had the camera on a tripod, propped up on something, or if you were just standing very still when you filmed the roo's. It must be amazing to be so close to them, but I suppose you get used to them being around. Anyway, it is now my breakfast time, about 7.40am, so off to get something to eat, so bye for now my friend, and have a good weekend. Much love and respect as always from me, Jo, here in the good old UK. xxxx

Good Morning over there Jo😊 Thanks so much my friend. I'm on the mend. Yes it was a very useful haul. Was great to get a few different things that we don't normally get. I was there... just trying to stand very still and quiet! It's a little tricky as you want to get closer to see them better but if you get too close or they feel threatened they will jump away! We're used to seeing the kangaroos where we live, but it's still really cool every time they pay us a visit! Hope you had a delicious breakfast and have a great weekend too. Take care💕

Hi Victoria, We live rurally almost an hour out from Brisbane in Queensland. This food pantry I go to on Friday's is run by the Uniting Church in my area. If you're looking for a lower cost (some may be entirely free also) food parcel nearby to you please try this link: www.foodbank.org.au Try clicking the "Find Food" button where you can put in your postcode to hopefully find some other food bank or food pantry options nearest to you. These websites might also help: secondbite.org/food-finder/ and www.ozharvest.org/food/receive-food-individuals/ (Sometimes though not all church food pantries are listed I've noticed, so contacting local churches in your area directly or looking up their details online may be useful too. Some only advertise on Facebook). If you live in the Brisbane area I have heard of Kings Church on the southside of Brisbane (Logan Village, Reedy Creek, Pimpama) that offer entirely free hampers usually once a month too... not sure if they're close by to you, but here's their details: www.kingscommunity.care/?v=6cc98ba2045f Also Lighthouse Care in Brisbane have $25 discount trolleys and low price groceries in their stores too: lighthousecare.org.au/ Hope that helps. Take care and thanks so much for watching😊

I wonder if kangaroos make as much of a nuisance of themselves as the deer who wander into our yards do
@makingendsmeet
@makingendsmeet 7 ай бұрын
They usually just eat the grass and don't touch the garden. They're usually no problem. You do need to be aware of the big male ones though as some can be aggressive towards people, so we just watch them from a distance and let them graze😊

@@makingendsmeet last spring we had one eat two entire tomato plants. That must have been one sick deer the next day.
@makingendsmeet
@makingendsmeet 7 ай бұрын
Oh no! How disappointing for you (and the deer maybe too)!
@mustwereallydothis
@mustwereallydothis 7 ай бұрын
@@makingendsmeet Sadly, I think the consequences for the deer were likely more serious than it deserved. Tomato plants are highly toxic. I hope it was OK. We could have put those plants behind a deer proof fence but it never occurred to us that any deer would ever be hungry enough to eat it. I honestly can't imagine why it ate them when there were plenty of perfectly good weeds that they normally love eating in the very next lot.
@makingendsmeet
@makingendsmeet 7 ай бұрын
@@mustwereallydothis Yes let's hope it survived and had nothing worse than a bellyache. Strange like you say that it would choose to eat the tomatoes rather than all the other plants it usually would munch on. Nature has its surprises, doesn't it?!
